Gomez-Swift Dinner: Young Stars Supportive To Each Other After Breakups

Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift had dinner together Saturday night, reportedly showing support for each other after both went through difficult breakups.

The Gomez-Swift dinner took place at Osteria La Buca in Los Angeles, with the two young ladies sharing a table and reportedly engaging in some deep conversation. As Access Hollywood noted, the pair appeared to onlookers to be having a lovely evening.

Each of them has gone through a breakup in recent weeks. Taylor Swift ended her shortlived romance with Conor Kennedy last month, saying that her schedule of performing kept her too bust to spend any time with the high school senior.

The recent breakup for Selena Gomez didn’t go so smoothly. She split up with pop sensation Justin Bieber after a two-year relationship, but the couple agreed to meet over the weekend. The meeting went terribly, as Bieber and Gomez got into a public fight in a restaurant and she stormed out before the food even arrived.

Though each was dealing with the loss of a relationship, the Gomez-Swift dinner still appeared to go well, an observer said.

“The girls shared an Italian meal and seemed to have the best time,” an onlooker told People. “There were a lot of giggles and laughter.”

The source added, “They looked like great friends and were also in deep conversation throughout the meal. Taylor was very protective of Selena and escorted her to and from the car.”

Selena has spoken of her adoration for Taylor, even before the Gomez-Swift dinner.

“Taylor’s amazing,” Selena told Glamour recently. “She’s so smart and sweet and humble — and she’s way more successful than I am! So when I see her after everything she’s been through and she just wants to go home and bake cookies with me, that to me is awesome.”

The Gomez-Swift dinner might be the prelude to a more involved collaboration between the two. As E! News reported, the pair were spotted at Conway recording studio in Los Angeles earlier in the day.
