Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes May Tour With TLC Hologram Style

Is Left Eye the next to be put to the hologram test? It sure looks like it. It’s been over a decade since the rapper and signature member of TLC was killed in a car crash in Honduras, and now it looks like she may be united with her TLC members.

The TLC trio made up of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins rose to fame in the early 90s and once again in the early millennium for their hits “Waterfalls”, “Ain’t To Proud To Beg” and “No Scrubs.” The band went on hiatus right before Lopes was killed in 2002. Although the two standing members put on a ceremonious concert in honor of their fallen friend, TLC hasn’t reunited since then.

The first astonishingly life-like hologram was debuted at Coachella when slain rapper Tupac Shakur came on stage with Snoop Dogg to perform. The idea that perhaps Left Eye was next to take the space in hologram form was rumored right after the significant performance, and now it’s being considered by the existing group members.

Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas spoke to U.K.’s Metro about the idea saying, “The hologram is something we talked about and thought about years ago. Obviously timing is everything, but we’re definitely talking about it.”

However she’s also looking at this from a personal perspective as well. The two were said to be devastated after Lisa Lopes died. Telling Metro, Thomas said, “It will be hard on us, but I certainly think our fans would love to see it. I think we would probably pass out, and all of our fans would break down, but it’s amazing how real the hologram looks. It’s almost like you can touch the person.”

This news comes right after it is said that TLC may return with an album to support a tour. As of right now there doesn’t seem to be a timeline for the tour or album. This will be the first album released without Left Eye.
