Jefferson Mall Woman Tells ‘Welfare’ Hispanic J.C. Penney’s Customers: ‘Go Back To Wherever The F*** You Come From, Lady’ [Video]

There’s a video going viral out of Louisville, Kentucky, which has gained more than three million views within a span of hours. That’s because the video shows one woman berating two Hispanic women after one of the women joined her friend ahead of her in line to pay for a few more items. This set off the woman seen speaking loudly in the below video, telling them to “go back to wherever the f*** they come [sic] from,” and saying that the women were probably on welfare. Warning: The below video contains language that might be disturbing to some viewers.

According to WDRB, the Jefferson Mall outburst has indeed gone viral. The woman was briefly addressed by the J.C. Penney’s clerk at the register, who seemed to try and calm the woman down, but to no avail.

The video initiated from the page of Renee Buckner, who described breaking her fast from Facebook in order to post the viral video, which has gained more than 3.2 million views on Buckner’s page alone. Renee described returning to Facebook — after having left Facebook previously on December 1, in order to take a break from social media for more Bible study time — in order to express what she witnessed at Jefferson Mall.

“I had to get back on FB, to expose this racism in America/Louisville. If we ignore it, it will never go away….smh this is what America has come to, openly and proud to be a racist. Storyline: This Hispanic lady was purchasing items and the transaction was almost complete, then her friend brings up some shirts to be added to her purchase instead of getting in line. And this lady went off!!! Warning explicit language FYI…this wasn’t the entire scene, people tried to let her know it was out of order, but she wasn’t hearing that. #exposingTheRacism #lou”

The video has been shared more than 90,000 times, and has received nearly 20,000 comments — and has gained more than 29,000 reactions on Facebook. Renee described that what she filmed wasn’t the entire scene that night, and despite all the comments criticizing the other shoppers for not confronting the woman, Buckner wrote that other people did in fact tell the women she was out of order, but the woman didn’t stop her rant against the Hispanic woman.

Ironically, the woman uses poor English when she says the phrase, “Go back to wherever the f*** you come [sic] from lady,” instead of saying “came from.” It’s notable that she used poor English, because the woman berated the Hispanic women for the way they spoke, and yelled at them to speak proper English. She also assumed the women were on welfare, and claimed that all the other shoppers were probably paying for the items the Hispanic women were purchasing.

“Just because you come from another country, that don’t make you nobody. You’re nobody, as far as I’m concerned. Probably on welfare. The taxpayers probably paid for all that stuff.”

As a result of the viral video, a local community activist named Christopher 2X is planning an event on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Jefferson Square Park concerning the video. For their part, Jefferson Mall also turned to Facebook to post a response to the viral video. The mall noted that they are aware of the video that was filmed in J.C. Penney’s store, and wrote that Jefferson Mall “strives to create a comfortable and convenient experience for all” and that the behavior displayed by the woman was not condoned. They wrote that they will identify and ban the woman permanently from Jefferson Mall.
