Malia Obama Rehab Rumors: First Daughter’s Noticeable Absence From Public Sparks Rehab Speculations

Rumors that Malia Obama was sent to rehab have surfaced as the first daughter’s absence from the public eye has been noticeable in recent months. The 18-year-old was openly partying throughout the summer, but she has mysteriously been out of sight since early September.

A source alleges to Radaronline that Malia Obama has been an “embarrassment” to her parents, and she might have been in rehab.

“Malia’s been caught up in a lot of scandal, and now she’s been MIA at a lot of family events. People are wondering if she went to rehab or if she’s just hiding out,” the insider said.

It may not be a coincidence that Malia has kept a low profile for a while now.

“She’s been an embarrassment to Barack and Michelle, so it’s no wonder they want her out of the picture,” continued the insider.

One of the last times Malia Obama made news for her partying spree was during a visit to Martha’s Vineyard in which she was rushed out of a noisy party before police raided it. In early September, a photo was released on social media of her at a frat house party standing next to a marijuana bong. Prior to that Malia had made news all summer long for attending other parties. While the Democratic National Convention was going on, she was in Chicago at Lollapalooza and caught on video smoking a cigarette that was suspected to be marijuana.

Malia Obama was nowhere to be seen on November 23 when her parents and 15-year-old sister, Sasha, served dinner to veterans at the Armed Forces Retirement Home the day before Thanksgiving. Malia and Sasha were both gone earlier in the day when their father carried out the Annual Turkey Pardon. President Obama was instead joined by his two nephews and told the press that “scheduling conflicts” were the reason why his daughters missed the event. He did joke that his daughters “just couldn’t take my jokes anymore.”

Rumors of Malia Obama’s whereabouts being in rehab are also due to her missing the Obama’s final Christmas lighting ceremony on December 1. She finally surfaced when the rest of the family jetted off to Hawaii for Christmas vacation.

The insider tells RadarOnline that the “Obamas didn’t raise their daughter to behave like this,” adding that Malia is at a “rebellious stage” and doing everything against her parents’ wishes.

“Malia is at that rebellious stage, and doing the opposite of what her parents tell her.”

The unidentified insider goes on to say that Malia Obama’s out of control behavior and alleged pot smoking has been a source of tension between her parents.

“Michelle blamed Barack for Malia’s wild behavior and pot-smoking, and said their daughter obviously got it from him,” said the source.

The report claims that the president and Michelle Obama are “hashing out a deal to end their 24-year marriage” as soon as they leave the White House. According to the site’s source, the president has managed to “avoid” a major scandal, but his oldest daughter has fulfilled that role.

When the Obamas returned from Martha’s Vineyard in August, a few news outlets assessed the body language between the president and Malia, speculating that he was humiliated that Malia was swooped out of a party by Secret Service because police were about to carry out a raid. The raid was due to noise disturbance, an officer confirmed to the Boston Herald.

Malia will begin her studies at Harvard in the fall of 2017. She’s currently in the middle of a gap year.

It’s unknown if the rehab rumors surrounding Malia Obama are true, and if so, the family might want to keep it as private as possible.
