Lamar Odom Is Reportedly ‘Sad’ After Divorce From Khloe Kardashian Is Finalized

Lamar Odom is reportedly struggling after his divorce from Khloe Kardashian was made final.

Although the former NBA player hasn’t publicly addressed the official end of his marriage, a new report suggests that it is a “sad time” for Lamar Odom, who recently checked himself into a San Diego rehabilitation facility.

“[Lamar Odom] takes things really hard, whether it is something serious or something very little and minuscule,” an insider told Hollywood Life on December 17. “So when it comes to his divorce being finalized he is thinking of all the good times, all the help Khloe [Kardashian] gave him when he was in the hospital, and knows he blew it. He had a great girl, and he will eventually move on, but it is a sad time for Lamar because he knows he let the right girl get away. He is very emotional about it ending officially.”

Lamar Odom is currently in rehab after an in-depth interview with Dr. Travis Stork, which will be featured during an upcoming episode of The Doctors. Last week, Lamar Odom’s rep confirmed the news to Us Weekly and revealed the former athlete had made the decision to go to rehab after meeting with Dr. Stork and consulting with members of his family.

Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian finalized their divorce on December 17, just over three years after Kardashian initially filed documents to end their marriage.

“[Lamar Odom] never, ever thought the day would come where Khloe wouldn’t be an Odom,” a second source added.

Lamar Odom and his now-ex-wife remained close to one another on and off after she filed for divorce in December 2013, and when Odom suffered a near-fatal overdose at the end of last year, Kardashian and members of her family quickly boarded a private jet and flew to Nevada to be by his side as doctors attempted to keep him alive.

Although Lamar Odom remained in a coma for several days, he ultimately awoke and was transferred to Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center at that time. From there, Lamar Odom received medical care for about three months and was ultimately released from the facility in January of this year.

Throughout the early months of this year, Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian were on good terms, but after rumors had begun swirling which suggested the former athlete may have relapsed, their relationship took a quick turn for the worse and in May, Kardashian refiled documents to end their marriage.

“[Lamar Odom]’s in shock that their divorce is final and he’s pissed because he knows this is all his doing,” the Hollywood Life source continued. “Lamar wanted badly to get in the car and fly down to the courthouse yesterday and tear those papers up before the divorce became finalized but because of his undying love and respect for Khloe, he couldn’t bring himself to do it. Khloe loved him hard, terribly hard and Lamar knows in his soul that he may never find another woman like her again and that’s a real reality gut check.”

In Lamar Odom’s rep’s statement regarding his time in rehab, they explained that he had decided it was best to take some time to “focus on himself.”

“[Lamar Odom] is dedicated to leading a healthy lifestyle and being the best father he can be to his children. Lamar asks that the public please respect his privacy at this time and truly appreciates the love and support of his family, friends and fans. He will talk about his journey in January on The Doctors.”

Lamar Odom has not yet released an official statement to fans regarding his decision to enter rehab.
