No Respect! Amber Portwood Quits ‘Teen Mom OG’ Over MTV’s Questionable Editing

Amber Portwood is officially done. The reality star just confirmed her departure from Teen Mom OG amidst concerns over MTV’s questionable editing tactics. How will her exit affect the coming season?

Hollywood Life reports that Portwood’s departure follows her explosive fight with Farrah Abraham during the Teen Mom OG reunion. Portwood was extremely unhappy with how the network edited the fight and said she felt “disrespected” by everyone involved on the show.

“Sad to say but I’m not going to be a part of #Teenmomog. The way I have been portrayed and treated is unfair. @MTV sending all my love. If I was treated fairly it wouldn’t be an issue but it’s been nothing but disrespect since the reunion show. Which keeps continuing today. Nothing has been dealt with or made me feel any safer to even move on with people who have continuously hidden things from the network. The day I’m shown some respect by the people I’ve worked with for 8 years is the day I’ll be back. I’ve sacrificed a lot for this show.”

Portwood isn’t the first cast member to say she was done after a reunion. Abraham threatened to leave at the end of last season and Maci Bookout did the same after MTV announced that Abraham was re-joining the show. Both stars eventually agreed to stick with the show, and producers are likely working on a way to bring Portwood back.

That being said, her fight with Abraham was pretty nasty. According to Us Magazine, the drama heated up when Dr. Drew Pinsky questioned the ladies about their ongoing feud. Portwood slammed Abraham for comments she made about her daughter, which didn’t sit well with the former porn star.

“We used to be [friends] and then she decided to open up her crooked lips. She decided to do an interview saying something about how it’s good that [my daughter] Leah is with Gary [Shirley] and how my house probably smells like p**s. You don’t do that,” Portwood shared.

During the second part of the reunion, People reports that Abraham fired back at Portwood and said her fiancé, Matt Baier, was a pedophile. In response, Portwood rushed on stage and confronted Abraham face-to-face.

“Just because somebody’s 20 years older than you doesn’t mean he’s a f***ing pedophile,” Portwood screamed at Abraham.

The fight almost got physical when Amber Portwood took a swing at Abraham. After the episode aired, Portwood took to social media to defend her actions, saying, “If I was going out there to hit her then (sic) I would have. Just wanted her to say it to my face and of course, she didn’t … let’s be honest.”

Of course, it didn’t take long for Abraham to answer back.

“Byeeee Criminal couple learn how to act in public… horrible example #failedatlife @mtv maybe they need a teen mom special too,” she wrote.

To make matters worse, Abraham’s father and mother also stormed the stage at the same time Baier made an appearance. In the frenzy that followed, Baier actually pushed Abraham’s father, who subsequently fell to the ground.

While Abraham claims that MTV was doing everything in their power to prevent her dad from suing Baier, Portwood took serious issue with how the fight was portrayed.

“They cut out Michael literally screaming in my face calling me a b**ch and him putting his hands on Matt’s neck!!” she stated. “After 8 years this is so disrespectful. I’ve worked too hard on myself to take this kind of disrespect.”

According to E! News, Bookout and Catelynn Lowell are also unhappy with how MTV handled the situation. In fact, they both walked out on the reunion and believe that the network was giving Abraham preferential treatment.

MTV has not commented on Amber Portwood’s exit.
