Kate Gosselin Rumors: ‘Kate Plus 8’ Star Admits She ‘Messed Up,’ Claims Media ‘Affects’ Her Children

Kate Gosselin is never one to shy away from controversy, and the latest Kate Gosselin rumors suggest that while she admits she “messed up” in the past, it is the media — not her, or her ex-husband Jon — that has the largest impact on her children’s mental well-being.

According to ET Online‘s latest round of Kate Gosselin rumors, Kate claims that she understands that she did a lot of things wrong in her past, but anything she did, she did out of love for her children, and therefore she should be excused for any wrongdoing.

“I mess up, yet it’s out of love for my kids that I say, ‘whooo, I messed up. I need to get better at that.’ I mean, my life is my kids and there just wouldn’t be Kate Gosselin if it wasn’t for my kids. Everything I do [is] for them. I mean, being on TV is not easy. Having tabloids written about you constantly is not easy.”

But that doesn’t mean that Kate Gosselin is ready to accept full responsibility for her actions.

According to the latest Kate Gosselin rumors by People Magazine, the mom-of-eight went on The Dr. Oz Show to, ostensibly, promote the newest episode of her hit TLC show, and subsequently blamed the media for negatively affecting her children.

Kate went on to further claim that the tabloids’ intrusion on her life have painted a very nasty picture of her — one that isn’t in line with who she really is, as a person — and that it’s at the point where her kids can’t tell fact from fiction anymore.

“I could sit here and do every talk show and every news show every day for the rest of my life and what’s so upsetting is that there’s still going to be a percentage of people that still can’t tell the true me from the tabloid picture they’ve created. And that angers me and that angers me even more when it affects my children and it talks about them.”

But not everyone is buying the Kate Gosselin “woe is me” party line. In fact, there are some people who are actively talking about Kate…and in a court of law, no less!

That’s the word from In Touch Weekly, whose latest round of Kate Gosselin rumors suggest that her bodyguard-turned-boyfriend-turned-ex-boyfriend (whew!) Steve Neild may be required to testify against Kate in court. This testimony is coming as part and parcel of her current custody battle with her ex-husband, Jon, whom Kate is trying to prevent from getting more custody of their children.

Sources have told the magazine that even if Steve wants to protect his client and current/former/rumored girlfriend, he has no choice but to tell the truth about everything he knows about Kate and her relationship with her children. According to these same sources, Jon is hoping that Steve will divulge that Kate used physical discipline against their son, Collin, who is currently in a treatment facility in Pennsylvania to deal with “anger issues.”

“He [Steve] has no choice but to be completely honest about everything. At this point, Jon doesn’t even care about Steve and Kate’s relationship. He just wants to make sure his kids are safe.”
