Kylie Jenner Is Giving Away Free Lip Kits With Every Purchase In Celebration Of The Holidays

Kylie Jenner announced she will be giving away a free Merry lip kit with every purchase on Kylie Cosmetics for a limited time starting December 15.

The lip kit is part of Jenner’s holiday collection and retails for $30. It’s described as a “deepened rich red” and comes with a matching lip liner. Kylie Cosmetics posted the announcement on Instagram Thursday morning as well as in an email sent out to subscribers.

The free lip kit comes after other holiday surprises were announced by Jenner. These included free shipping, free limited-edition gift bags, and pom poms with purchase, and a free set of brushes with any Kyshadow palette purchase. The site offered a 12 days of Christmas surprise for customers in which daily give aways and products were released. Kylie is also giving fans a chance to win a limited-edition Holiday Box complete with all the products released for Christmas. Fans simply need to fill out a form by December 16 on her cosmetics site to be entered in the contest.

In addition to her giveaways, Kylie has been busy launching a pop-up shop and new website for her Kylie Jenner Shop. Fans lined up the evening perform her pop-up shop at the Topanga Mall opened in hopes of getting to meet the 19-year-old. In fact, even days after opening, fans are still waiting over an hour just to get inside the shop.

A reporter for E! News documented their experience of shopping at Kylie’s highly-anticipated store saying they waited 100 minutes to get inside. Not only is there a wait time to shop, but fans are then told they have only 15 minutes to pick their items and check out. While they said most of the clothing sizes were sold out within three days, shoppers were still getting their hands on cosmetic products that were no longer available online.

Indeed, Jenner has created an obsession over her brand, which now includes everything from lip kits and hoodies to phone cases and socks. Almost all of the products on her Kylie Jenner Shop website are also sold out, save for the phone cases and 2017 calendar. While Kylie is definitely reaping the financial benefits of her popular brand, she also is great at keeping fans interested and excited for new products. She regularly interacts with fans via Twitter and even asks for opinions when it comes to new lip kit shades and merchandise.

Jenner finally offered free shipping for her beauty products after fans started complaining about the costs. A $29 lip kit would end up costing fans around $40 when domestic shipping was included. She’s kept the free shipping going through the holidays as people continue to purchase her latest cosmetic releases. Kylie is obviously trying to keep her fans — and loyal customers — happy as she continues to bank on her popularity.

However, a writer for the U.K.’s Independent has a different take on the way Kylie does business. She says the makeup mogul makes fans feel as if they’re being treated by the opportunity to buy her products and shop in her newly formed store.

“It’s all packaged as if this thing is supposed to be a treat for you.”

She calls it “indignity” of shopping at Kylie’s pop-up as fans are subjects to the harsh terms of the store. For example, there are no prices listed on products as if everyone has money to spend like Jenner does.

“They won’t tell you what you’re spending until you get to the register, so that you can pretend money isn’t an object for you, just like it isn’t for Kylie.”

She goes on to discuss how everything is limited-edition so fans can feel special given the opportunity to buy the products, and that the Kardashian sisters are selling a fantasy that fans can have lives like theirs if they use certain products. Namely, products they sell.

Some people may have differing opinions on Kylie’s products, but there’s no denying their popularity. While she’s making plenty of money, Jenner is also keeping her fans happy as she continues to offer giveaways and other surprises this holiday season.
