Gigi And Bella Hadid Reveal Their Dramatic Weight-Loss Secrets

Both Gigi and Bella Hadid have been criticized for their dramatic weight loss while making a name for themselves in the fashion industry. The judgment has since intensified when the famous sisters walked in this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

Fans remarked how thin Gigi Hadid looked when she made her second appearance at the annual runway show. They even took to social media to share before and after photos that has them wondering how much weight she lost before the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. It’s no secret that most of the models adhere to a strict diet and fitness regimen for the brand.

While fans have accused her of shedding the pounds to the pressure of the modeling industry, Gigi insisted that it was part of “growing up,” reports Elle.

“Bodies change as girls become women,” she wrote on Instagram, “just as my mom’s body changed at the same age. I loved my body as a 17-year-old athlete, and I love my body now.”

“Yes I’ve lost some ‘baby fat,’ but muscle mass from my intensive volleyball training in high school has changed over the years into lean muscle from boxing and work stress can have its affect [sic], naturally, but purposefully changing my body has never been my thing. I still eat what I want, I’m still strong, and I’m still healthy. Your comments won’t get me down.”

Gigi revealed that she drinks plenty of water, eats everything in moderation, and likes to do different workouts such as Ballet Beautiful, boxing, and cardio.

“I love to box – it’s a perfect balance of cardio and resistance training,” she told Reebok right before the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. “It’s important to enjoy your workouts and I genuinely look forward to boxing.”

However, Gigi had revealed that she’s been secretly battling a thyroid condition for the past two years and says that the treatment is the reason behind her weight loss. The 21-year-old model opened up to Elle about her diagnosis and why the medication has caused her to struggle to gain weight and keep the weight on.

“My metabolism actually changed like crazy this year,” she admitted. “I have Hashimoto’s disease. It’s a thyroid disease, and it’s now been two years since taking the medication for it, so for the VS show I didn’t want to lose any more weight, I just want to have muscles in the right place, and if my butt can get a little perkier, then that’s good.”

Bella Hadid has admitted that she does not starve herself to look like Victoria’s Secret Angel. In her latest Snapchat post on Monday, Dec. 12, she shared her daily meal, which consists of a grilled cheese sandwich and French fries with ketchup. Bella has also admitted that she loves eating pizza, reports Us Weekly.

“Right now my diet is pizza, so recently that’s all I’ve been eating,” she told WWD back in March. “I’m not really a big ‘working out’ person, but I definitely like to do cardio when I do. I guess I run sometimes, drink green juices once a week.”

After the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Bella and Gigi Hadid along with Kendall Jenner celebrated with burgers and mac and cheese after preparing for the show, reports The Sun. The models were seen eagerly scarfing down the food in Bella’s Snapchat video, which was taken after the show last month. All three girls were seen enjoying the large plates of food followed by soda.

While Bella stated that she doesn’t have a strict diet or exercise regimen, she spoke out about how she’s lost too much weight while getting in shape for the VS Show. Bella revealed in an interview with People that she wants her “boobs and a** back,” along with her curves.

“I have lost and gained weight. My body weight fluctuates so much. I didn’t mean to [lose weight]. Like I want boobs. I want my a** back. But it’s not my fault.”

Bella has committed herself to an intense workout regimen that has her working three hours a day with Gotham Gym trainer Rob Piela, who has also worked with Gigi. Bella’s recent comments come after she received backlash last month for starring in Nike’s latest ad campaign. Critics claimed that she is too “thin” to be the face of an athletic brand.
