Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello Spark New Dating Rumors After Allegedly ‘Blowing Kisses’
Shawn Mendes and Fifth Harmony star Camila Cabello are sparking fresh dating rumors just weeks after sources alleged that Cabello was spotted “blowing kisses” to Mendes at the 2016 American Music Awards.
Despite the twosome denying the dating rumors on numerous occasions in the past, it’s now their recent social media activity that once again has fans urging the two musicians to start dating.
Fans of Shawn and Camila have taken to Twitter in recent days to document Mendes and Cabello’s sweet Instagram activity, revealing that the twosome, who were first rumored to have been dating last year, had liked several posts of each other on the photo sharing site.
According to Twitter fan @WeLoveCamila97, Mendes and Cabello liked a slew of photos of each other on Instagram, posting screen shots showing that Camila had liked snaps of Shawn uploaded by Mendes and BBC Radio 1, while Mendes then returned the favor by clicking the like button for pictures of Camila, including one taken in front of London’s Houses of Parliament.
@WeLoveCamila97 also claimed that Shawn and Camila’s Instagram liking session stretched even further, revealed that Mendes allegedly also liked a snap of Cabello posted to the social media site by iHeartRadio earlier this week.
Camila and Shawn’s Instagram activity sent some fans into overdrive, claiming that the two, who have repeatedly denied that they’re dating, should be dating.
“Can Shawn and Camila please date thank you,” Twitter user @beautifuljaidon tweeted out amid the dating speculation, while ?@styIesroar urged Cabello and Mendes to get together by writing on the social media site, “I really want Shawn and Camila to date sigh.”
“Omg can Shawn and Camila just date THANK u,” @httpsjaidon added of Cabello and Mendes, and @camEElaphile asked, “When will Shawn and Camila actually date?”
The latest round of Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes dating talk comes shortly after Hollywood Life alleged that Cabello was “blowing kisses” to Mendes from the crowd during his performance at the 2016 American Music Awards in November, revealing that the Fifth Harmony star was reportedly upset that she didn’t have a great view of the “Treat You Better” singer from her seat at the big music award show.
According to an onlooker, Cabello was allegedly seen “blowing kisses” to Shawn from the audience of the show during his performance, where Mendes performed a medley of his hits “Treat You Better” and “Mercy.”
The American Music Awards insider also went on to claim that Cabello seemed to be “very smitten” with Mendes and was allegedly “mad that cameras were in front of her, and she wasn’t able to see the full performance.”
Camila has not commented on reports alleging that she “blew kisses” to Shawn, though the claims came shortly after fans of Cabello and the “Mercy” singer were sent into a frenzy after Shawn seemingly confirmed that he and the Fifth Harmony were once dating during an interview with Britain’s Capital FM Radio.
Shawn played seriously coy when asked if he was dating Camila during the interview, before then seemingly confessing that he and the singer once kissed after being asked by a fan if the Fifth Harmony singer was a good kisser.
After a fan asked Shawn the pretty awkward question about Camila on the British radio show, Mendes didn’t deny that the two ever dated or kissed, instead coyly joking in reply, “I don’t know. I don’t know that that means. She has too strong of a British accent. I couldn’t understand her.”
But while fans took Mendes’ coy answer as confirmation that he and Cabello once dated, Shawn then quickly shut down the dating claims just days later in an interview with People.
“We’re not dating — nor did we,” Shawn hit back when asked about dating Cabello, though Mendes did go on to gush over Camila in the interview after claiming that he and his fellow musician are “just really close friends.”
E! News was the first outlet to claim that Camila and Shawn were officially dating back in 2015, alleging last year that Mendes and Cabello were in fact dating and grew close during their joint tour of North America with Austin Mahone.
