Madonna Booed For Plugging Obama During New Orleans Concert

Madonna was booed during a recent concert in New Orleans after suggesting that everyone should cast their vote for Obama, Fox News is reporting.

Since some people simply aren’t fans of President Barack Obama, controversial singer Madonna caused a bit of a stir when she said that everyone in attendance should cast their vote for the guy this November. As a result of her actions, many in the audience booed the performer while others decided to walk out.

“Who’s registered to vote?” Madonna asked during Saturday evening’s performance. “I don’t care who you vote for as long as you vote for Obama.” Once the booing started, she added, “Seriously, I don’t care who you vote for. Do not take this privilege for granted. Go vote.”

According to Ace Showbiz, this isn’t the first time the singer has discussed President Obama during one of her recent concerts. Just last month, Madonna took a moment out of her set to talk about such slain civil rights leaders as Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King, Jr. before expressing her thoughts about the current President.

“It is so incredible to think that we have an African-American in the White House,” the singer exclaimed. “Those fine human beings did not die for nothing!”

It was during this show that Madonna referred to the President as a “black muslim,” a statement which caused a bit of a backlash from fans and critics alike. According to the Guardian, Madonna quickly explained that she was just making a joke.

“I was being ironic on stage,” she said. “Yes I know Obama is not a Muslim — though I know that plenty of people in this country think he is. And what if he were? The point I was making is that a good man is a good man no matter who he prays to. I don’t care what religion Obama is — nor should anyone else in America.”

Do you think it was right for audience members to boo Madonna for endorsing President Obama during her recent show in New Orleans?
