Lynne Spears Dubs Britney’s Former Manager A ‘Predator’

Lynne Spears, mother of X Factor judge and occasional pop star Britney, has described her daughter’s former manager Sam Lufti as a “predator” and “puppet master.”

Lufti is currently suing for unpaid compensation and defamation in Lynne’s memoir, Through the Storm. In the book, Spears accuses Lufti of drugging her daughter. Us Weekly reports that Lynne took the stand in court on Friday to discuss her daughter’s pre-X Factor days.

Lynne Spears reportedly became teary and emotional as she claimed that Lutfi had unplugged Britney’s house phone, concealed her cell phone, and added ground-up pills to her food. She told the court:

“Those were his exact words. [Lufti] was a predator and puppet master who hovered over my daughter and tried to insert himself in every aspect of her life.”

While admitting she stopped short of calling the police, Lynne Spears made no secret of the fact that she had tried to warn her daughter about Lufti. She told the court:

“I was very worried. I kept trying to get her away from there … I didn’t know what to do.”

Lynne also recounted how she received a call from Lufti on January 3, 2008, the same night Britney was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Lutfi took the stands earlier this week, and discussed Spears’ alleged drug use in depth. He also claimed Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, had punched him in the stomach and threatened his life.

The case will resume Tuesday – are you following the legal battle betwen Lynne Spears and Sam Lufti?
