Demi Lovato’s Dreams Of A Grammy Nomination Have Finally Come True

Demi Lovato has been dreaming of a Grammy award for a long time. The singer has finally got her first nomination by the music academy.

The 24-year-old singer received her first-ever Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album for her latest release, Confident, on Tuesday, December 6, reports Entertainment Tonight. Of course, Lovato is incredibly excited about her nomination. She took to Twitter to reveal the exciting news with her fans.

“Woke up to the most amazing news EVER!!!!!!!” she wrote. “Wow… thank you SO MUCH to @RecordingAcad!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #GrammyNominations.”

A few minutes later, the singer took to Twitter once again to add, “Btw.. it is an HONOR to be nominated with @Adele @Sia @justinbieber & @ArianaGrande!!!!!!”

Lovato is still in a state of shock over the news. She exclaimed to fans that she still can’t believe she was nominated for a Grammy.

“I still can’t believe I’ve been NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY,” she wrote. “You guys have no idea how unbelievably grateful and happy I am.. Wow… #pinchme.”

Demi received some love from her ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas, rumored boyfriend Luke Rockhold, best friend and tour mate Nick Jonas, and fellow Disney alum Bella Thorne, reports Teen Vogue. All of them took to social media to congratulate the “Stone Cold” singer.

Not everyone is happy to hear that Lovato has been nominated. Geordie Shore’s Gaz Beadle took to social media to exclaim his frustrations.

According to the Sun, he sent the following offensive and explicit tweet, “@ddlovato You are a w***e Selena deserved it.”

But, the reality star claims that he was hacked by a Selena Gomez fan. He later followed up with a tweet confirming that it wasn’t really him who angrily tweeted at Demi.

“Think I’ve been hacked – trying to kick this person off my account,” he tweeted.

It wasn’t easy as it took Gaz nearly 20 minutes to remove the tweet from his account. Fans of both Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato weren’t happy despite the reality star explaining what really happened.

“You suck. Demi got talent, Selena didn’t,” one wrote.

“Gaz I now really dislike you, I don’t get how you could even say that,” another added.

Demi Lovato has been dreaming of getting a Grammy. In February of 2015, she tweeted to her fans that she would get a Grammy nomination one day, reports Sugarscape.

“I WILL get a Grammy nomination one day. No more f*ckin around. Let’s GO!!!!!” she explicitly tweeted.

In an interview with Complex magazine, Lovato said that she was proud of her Confident album track “Stone Cold” and said that it would be enough to get a nod.

“I want the Grammy committee to hear [‘Stone Cold’] so that one day they can see that – I know that I’m capable of getting there. I just want people to see it finally. When I say getting there, I don’t mean winning one. I just want to be nominated for one.”

“You can’t go higher than the Grammys in the music industry,” she continued. “That was a huge goal for this album. I watched the Grammy nominations last year and I was like, ‘I want to be there so bad.’ It really gave me that kick in the a** to make music that was worthy of it. This is a song that I feel like is worthy of notification.”

This came days after Demi tweeted that she had her eyes on a Grammy nomination. Despite Demi’s hard work, her latest album wasn’t enough to rack up sales and stay on the music charts. The singer announced in October that she is taking a break from making music and being in the spotlight.

“So excited for 2017. Taking a break from music and the spotlight.. I am not meant for this business and the media,” she wrote on October 4.

Although Lovato has since announced she’s back in the studio, she said that she would rather be doing “charity work.” However, Lovato is still on the international leg of her “Future Now Tour” with Nick Jonas, and her final concert date is scheduled for February 3, 2017, in Dubai as part of the RedfestDSB, reports People.
