Katie Holmes: Star Shuts Down ‘Dawson’s Creek’ Reunion Possibility, Happier Than Ever, Is Foxx The Reason?

It is without question that fans of the hit teen TV drama Dawson’s Creek would be thrilled to see the cast reunite onscreen for a later years episode or two. Much like the push for a reunion of the Friends cast, such urging by those who remember the excitement that accompanied each week as viewers tuned in to find out what came next in the lives of the beloved characters have been denied. It was only last week that Jennifer Aniston shared her opinion as to why a Friends reunion would not work, drawing on the changing times and how today’s audience would not have the same connection to the characters. In regard to DC, Katie Holmes fielded the reunion query and had a similar take on the matter. People shares Holmes’ words which she expressed during an interview on Sirius XM’s Just Jenny show.

“I don’t think we’re going to do a reunion. We did grow up, but we see each other every now and then. I think that the charm of the show was Kevin Williamson’s writing and it was of that time and it gave teenagers this voice. It was a very, very special time — a special show and I loved every minute of it.”

Though Holmes has been the bearer of bad news this time around, she previously seemed up for a reunion. As time passes, the possibility of one actually happening seems to be fading. It seems that Dawson, Joey, Jen, and Pacey won’t be returning to the creek of their teenage years, yet there was a recent reunion between Michelle Williams and James Van Der Beek that gave fans a touch of nostalgia.

Just this past Saturday, the costars from days gone by were reunited for the very first time in 13 years while at “Manchester By The Sea,” a holiday party put on by Matt Damon and Jeff Bezos. Only earlier this year, Michelle was asked about her thoughts regarding a reunion and she gave a very logical explanation as to why she didn’t believe her character would work in a reunion.

“I died. I would have to come back as a ghost – or put a lot of filters on the camera, and I’ll do flashback scenes. I think it’s a fun thing to sort of imagine. I like imagining it. But I haven’t really heard anybody say anything like actually serious about that happening.”

Although most of the DC cast has remained out of the media tabloids and headlines, Katie Holmes just can’t seem to shake the claims that she and Jamie Foxx are engaging in a secretive romance, one that has reportedly been going on for years now. The ex-wife to Tom Cruise and mother to Suri Cruise, 10, has been the subject of such claims more and more steadily since early this year. The rumors have ranged from engagements to secret marriages and even pregnancies, yet neither Holmes nor Foxx has verified any romance. In fact, both have stated that they are merely friends. This has not kept the rumor mill from churning and the latest rumor that has been shut down by Katie herself, is that she and Foxx were married. While chatting with the New York Times Holmes stated “Nooo I’m not married. But thank you for asking.”

Another more recent rumor suggests that Holmes and Suri have never been happier, after experiencing darker days when Holmes was going through her divorce from Scientologist Tom Cruise. Hollywood Life states that the root of the mother-daughter duo’s happiness is Jamie Foxx’s presence in their lives. An apparent exclusive source was quoted by the publication on the subject.

“Katie’s life now, compared to back then, is like night and day — and she is SO much happier! She has vowed never to allow her life to be lived under the media spotlight again, and Jamie is very happy with the way things are too.”
