Bono’s Daughter, Eve Hewson, Stuns In NYC Appearance [Video]

U2’s Bono is as well-known as a musician as he is for keeping his personal life closely guarded. To wit: How has he been hiding daughter Eve Hewson for the past 21 years?

Bono’s low profile is one generally shared by his family members, which is probably why we all had to scoop our jaws off the floor after 21-year-old Eve made an appearance in New York for the screening of her new film, This Must Be The Place.

Eve has actually been building her own career in a subtle, quiet fashion, far from the spotlight of her father’s stellar music career. Still, the beautiful blue-eyed brunette and second-eldest of Bono and wife Ali Hewson’s four children rocked her premiere, humbly and gracefully grabbing all of our attention.

This Must Be The Place co-stars Sean Penn and Frances McDormand. It competed at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, and is headed for a limited domestic release on November 2. Hewson plays Mary, a teenager who warms up to Penn’s aging Dublin rock star seeking revenge for his father’s torment at the hands of a Nazi guard.

Here’s the synopsis, via Fandango:

“Fifty-year-old retired goth rocker Cheyenne (Sean Penn) travels from London to New York to visit his dying father, and then journeys across the United States on a mission to seek revenge against the elusive ex-Nazi war criminal who persecuted his dad in Auschwitz. Despondent after two of his young fans commit suicide, Cheyenne retreats to his Dublin mansion and begins living off of his royalties alongside his down-to-earth wife Jane (Frances McDormand).

Later, he receives word that his father is dying in New York City. Although they haven’t spoken in 30 years, he boards the first available flight to bid his dad farewell. Unfortunately, Cheyenne arrives too late. Upon reconnecting with his cousin Richard (Liron Levo), however, the morose musician learns that his father, a Holocaust survivor, had been tracking Auschwitz guard Aloise Lange (Heinz Lieven) around America for decades. Filled with ennui yet determined not to let Lange escape unpunished, Cheyenne vows to pick up the mission his father left uncompleted.”

The Irish-born Hewson lives in Brooklyn, and made her feature-length debut in 2008s The 27 Club, reports Yahoo News.
