Axl Rose provided his first television interview in decades this week, but not everyone who watched was impressed, with the wife of former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash poking fun at her husband’s former bandmate.
“I was waiting for something enlightening and all I got was promotion for a show and his evident affinity for a chili burger” stated Perla Hudson in an interview with Us Weekly, following Rose’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on 25 October.
Continuing she noted, “Where is the love Axl? And I stayed up for this? Sex, drugs and chili dogs. Long live Axl Rose.” Rose’s interview did see him discuss the early years of the band in Hollywood, in response to Kimmel’s question of, “We’re just a few minutes from your old rehearsal space, do you ever think it about it when driving by?” To which Rose remarked, “Not in a while.”
Rose also didn’t seem to happy about remembering all of the escapades that he and his former bandmates got up to, adding that he “unfortunately” can recall everything that happened.
Hudson also had a dig at the new Guns N’ Roses line-up by commenting, “He’s had a Slash, a Buckethead and a Bumblefoot and evidently way too many Tommy’s chili burgers!” This came after Rose introduced the latest incarnation which features, original keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarists Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, DJ Ashba and Richard Fortus, bassist Tommy Stinson, drummer Frank Ferrer and keyboardist Chris Pitman.
What did you think of Rose on Kimmel? Did he look to have put on a few extra pounds?
