How Jennifer Lawrence Almost Killed A Man With Her Itchy Butt [Video]

Actress Jennifer Lawrence took out a lot of folks in her roll as Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games films, but that was all a bunch of fiction. In real life, it looks like her real body count actually comes in at “almost one,” and the story (ahem) behind it has to do with a sacred rock and her itchy butt.

No. Really.

As People reported, Jennifer Lawrence told the tale of the close call on The Graham Norton Show on Friday. According to the 26-year-old Oscar-winning Lawrence, the incident happened during the filming of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in Hawaii, and it almost cost a crew member his life.

According to Jennifer, her itchy butt had been caused by a wet suit, and she made the regrettable decision to scratch the itch on some ragged (but sacred) stones on the coast. Apparently, the Passengers star had been warned by the locals to steer clear of the rocks, as had the rest of Jennifer Lawrence’s co-stars, but she just couldn’t help herself.

As Entertainment Tonight reported, Jennifer Lawrence told the show’s host that the sacred rocks weren’t supposed to be sat on, because “you’re not supposed to expose your genitalia to them.” However, because Jennifer was wearing a wet suit, no such exposure was possible, so she decided to take a seat. What she found was that the jagged, sacred rocks made excellent butt-scratchers.

“There were sacred rocks … and you’re not supposed to sit on them because you’re not supposed to expose your genitalia to them. [But] they were so good for butt itching!”

Apparently, there was something to the locals’ warnings, though. One of the sacred rocks that Jennifer Lawrence was using somewhat “unsacredly” to scratch her itchy, wet suit-covered butt wasn’t up to the task. According to Lawrence, in the midst of being used to scratch her nether itch, one rock came loose. And this was no little rock, but rather, Jennifer describes it as a “giant boulder.” After being loosened by Jennifer’s butt and its itching motions, the boulder did the unthinkable.

It rolled from its precarious perch all the way down a mountain, almost taking out (and likely killing) an unwitting sound tech in the process.

“One rock that I was butt-scratching on ended up coming loose. And it was a giant boulder and it rolled down this mountain and it almost killed our sound guy!”

When recalling the story, Jennifer Lawrence was clear on how close of a call the situation really was. The crew member’s life really was in danger from the tumbling boulder; according to Jennifer, the ruckus actually caused a lot of damage, including destroying the sound guy’s entire station.

“It was this huge, dramatic deal.”

Jennifer Lawrence is able to laugh about the potentially deadly mishap now, but not everyone thinks that the story is funny. Namely, the native Hawaiian’s who’d warned her about touching the sacred rocks in the first place. According to Jennifer, they saw the falling boulder as the result of the curse surrounding the rocks, likely brought on by Lawrence breaking the rules and touching them (even though she only did so through her wet suit).

“All the Hawaiians were like, ‘It’s the curse!'”

Even then, Jennifer made light of the situation (after all, the sound guy wasn’t crushed to death by the wayward boulder), calling herself the curse for butt’s part in the dislodging of the rock.

“I’m over in the corner going, ‘I’m your curse. I wedged it loose with my ass.'”

What do you think? Did Jennifer Lawrence awaken an ancient curse with her butt, or was it mere coincidence that her slightly irreverent actions almost killed a man?
