Kristen Doute Calls Scheana Shay ‘Brave’ And ‘Smart’ For Divorce: Where’s Mike Shay?

Kristen Doute may not be working at SUR these days, but she’s close with the cast of Vanderpump Rules. Kristen has become close friends with Katie Maloney and Stassi Schroeder, especially when it comes to petty drama between the cast members. But when things get serious in Los Angeles, she’s there for her friends. And this week, it was revealed that Scheana Shay was filing for divorce from her husband, Mike Shay. The two have been married for almost two and a half years, but Scheana couldn’t make her marriage work. Now, Kristen Doute is there for her as she deals with the aftermath of her decision.

According to a new tweet, Kristen Doute decided to use some interesting words in her supportive tweet to her co-star. While Scheana has been rather silent about why she’s divorcing her husband, it’s no secret that they had their troubles last year. Mike admitted to having alcohol and drug problems, and Shay tried to help him get better. But despite telling the world that they were stronger than ever, she decided to file for divorce.

“Thank you all for the love today! It’s never easy to split with someone you still love, but we will always remain friends,” Scheana wrote on Twitter last night as the news of her divorce decision started spreading around on the internet.

“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. love you, bean,” Kristen Doute tweeted back to Shay, pointing out that she was both brave and smart for filing for divorce.

This is very interesting, because Shay hasn’t talked about why she suddenly decided to file for divorce. There have been plenty of rumors about Mike relapsing and choosing his desire for drugs over his marriage. And it’s possible that Doute heard these rumors. But she may want to protect her estranged husband from the public, as he hasn’t really been in front of the cameras too much. Just a few weeks ago, there was a rumor he was missing and that she couldn’t find him. While she stayed silent, so did her friends. Kristen Doute never said anything about her friend’s marriage, but Mike himself broke his silence.

“I am not missing. I am sober. I am Happy!!! Don’t believe everything you read. I love my wife and will always love my wife. Whatever is going on between us will stay between us! I love my family and my family loves me and a lot of things have been said out is protection and anger by many people. I just ready for the next chapter in my life!” Mike Shay revealed on Instagram just three weeks ago, sharing that he still loves his wife.

It’s interesting that Mike says he still loves his wife after everything that they have been through. He wrote this update about three weeks ago, and one can imagine that Shay knew that the divorce was coming. And maybe Kristen Doute also knew that the marriage was falling apart, even though Doute hasn’t said anything. The official statement about the divorce was published last night.

“While we have made the difficult decision to move forward separately, our story will continue on through the love and mutual respect that we have cultivated throughout our 15-year friendship. Much of the recent speculation and reporting on our relationship has been misguided, and we have come to an amicable decision on all matters,” read the statement from the couple when they filed for divorce yesterday, according to Bravo. “We might have failed at our marriage, but we are committed to succeeding as friends and will continue to support each other’s personal happiness and professional success.”
