Justin Bieber Officially Announces U.S. Stadium ‘Purpose Tour,’ Talks New Album: Harassed By Fan On ‘Ellen’

Get ready for Justin Bieber’s first ever North American stadium leg of his “Purpose World Tour.”

The pop prince officially announced his upcoming second U.S. leg of his ongoing “Purpose World Tour” amid an eventful guest appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday, during which one over-excited super fan repeatedly tried to grab the superstar’s face and kiss him. More on that below.

In addition to the huge reveal of his U.S. stadium tour, Justin also performed acoustic renditions of his hits “Cold Water” and “Love Yourself.”

Some lucky Bieber fans and non-fan guests received email invitations to the Ellen taping. Some of them went on to tweet details of what happened during the show.

Much to the delight and surprise of audience members, they were each given two free tickets to Justin’s upcoming “Purpose Tour” concert at the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, California, in August. Dates and cities for other U.S. stadium shows on the second leg have yet to be announced.

The Canadian’s tour kicked off in Seattle, Washington, in March, and he completed his 116th “Purpose” show in London, U.K., earlier this week.

Justin is set to kick off a short stadium tour in Australia and New Zealand in March, with arena dates in South America before and after. The 22-year-old also has a slew of festivals before his stadium leg in the U.S. begins.

Bieber fans at DeGeneres’ show tweeted that the singer said he is currently working on his album to follow up his critically acclaimed latest Purpose record.

Fans also noted how talkative and interactive Justin was with fans during his two-song performance.

Twitter user @starontheblvd, who attended the taping tweeted, “Yo but he sat down with us and was hugging people and he gave us high fives he’s so precious.”

That same user continued, “F*** it was so intimate he kept looking at all of us on the floor. Me to the people in the front: Are y’all alive still.”

@starontheblvd added, “He kept talking to all of us and he was super smiley.”

They went on to reveal, “He kept talking to us and all of Ellen’s crew was trying to get him to stop so he could start the performance.”

Another fan recalled how appreciative the audience was when Bieber sang. “When he was performing I looked around and everyone was just looking at him with so much love I cry,” Twitter user @needsuthemost wrote.

Twitter user @Mitzi, added, “Honestly like he put down his guitar right at a commercial break and just came over to us and sat down. Hugged and talked. So thankful.”

Twitter user Astrid tweeted about her fan experience on at the Ellen show, writing, “He also sat on the edge of his stage and talked to fans and hugged them. We told him we liked his socks too.”

Unfortunately, one female super fan got far too carried away at one part of show when she met the Biebs.
One guest revealed in a series of tweets that the fan kept trying to forcibly grab the singer’s face and kiss him which led to an awkward moment.

Twitter user S. Sami recalled, “Bieber harassed by super fan at the Ellen show today. I believe the segment will be cut.”

Sami explained that “Ellen read a letter from a fan & called her up to meet Bieber.” The fan then “went for a kiss” and was told no to a kiss by the singer, and he offered her a hug instead. It was then that the fan “tried again.”

The guest added that Bieber was “caught off guard and didn’t know she would tried to kiss him multiple times. They went to commercial and had to re shoot segments.”

Elaborating, Sami shared, “I felt very bad because she literally went for the kiss and tried to grab his face. He handled it very well. Bieber is maturing.”

The guest made sure to note that, “During his performance [Bieber] he was amazing to all his fans and hugged them and even hit a few dabs. The super fan segment was just awkward.”

While he was at the television studio, the “Sorry” singer also sang a couple of lines of Taylor Swift’s 2012 hit “I Knew You Were Trouble.”

Footage of Bieber singing Swift’s song was posted at The Ellen Show’s SnapChat account without any wording attached.

Readers may already be aware that Justin currently doesn’t have a public Snapchat or Instagram account.

Bizarrely, the Daily Mail missed out on the memo on Bieber’s reduced social media platforms.

After opting to “forget” that the heartthrob no longer uses Instagram or Snapchat, the tabloid reposted a video shared at the Justin Bieber Tracker Instagram account, misreported that the fan website’s own caption was written by the Biebs, and labeled the clip as “Justin Bieber Instagram,” despite the singer’s deletion of his ‘Gram account in August.

Justin Bieber Tracker’s caption reads, “Who even likes taylor swift?”

Handsy super fans, misleading captions at fan websites, and inaccurate U.K. tabloids aside, it sounds like the Biebs’ interview and performance on Ellen will be well worth a watch.

The Ellen show episode with Justin Bieber will air Monday, December 5.
