‘Westworld’ Finale Spoilers: What Do We Know So Far?

Fans are coming to the end of the first season of the hit HBO show Westworld, and the latest Westworld finale spoilers have us agreeing with the stars when they stated that the finale will be a “humdinger.” So what can we expect from the last show of the season? What do we know so far?

Warning: This post contains spoilers. Please do not read this post if you do not wish to read Westworld finale spoilers.

The first set of Westworld finale spoilers come to us courtesy of the Huffington Post. Last night’s episode shows that there’s a deeper game at play here, and it cuts deeper than we all originally thought. The biggest reveal, of course, was that Bernard (played by Jeffrey Wright) is indeed a host — more specifically, Bernard is, in fact, Arnold.

That’s the good news.

The bad news, unfortunately, is that Dolores kills Arnold later on in the episode. However, did Dolores (played by Evan Rachel Wood) kill Arnold on her own, or did Arnold force her to do it for him, as the fan theories seem to suggest? The season finale will certainly reveal the answer to this question.

Meanwhile, the latest Westworld finale spoilers from the New York Times confirm what we now know: the actual “game” is nothing more than a metaphor for creation — for life and for death.

Another thing that has been revealed is what, precisely, happened with William and the Man in Black. No longer an introspective character, William is now a ruthless gamer looking to exploit every avenue of Westworld with all of his might. Toward the end, when he lays waste to a nest of Pariah’s androids, we realize that the transformation is complete, and that William has definitely chosen to wear the black hat, and part of his transformation means that he’s no longer looking inward. Rather, he’s looking outward — to the actual game itself — to discover what, exactly, it’s trying to really say to him, rather than to take a journey to the center of his mind.

Finally, the latest Westworld finale spoilers from Entertainment Weekly suggest that during the final episode of the season, all of the fan’s questions will be answered, with one notable exception: what will possibly happen next?

The outlet had a chance to sit down with show creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, and they both shared what we can expect to see during the 90-minute season finale when it airs next Sunday.

“We weren’t interested in spinning out mysteries with no answers in sight. Our goal is to tell an ambitious story in season-long chapters, each with a distinct feel and theme.”

Fans of the show are going to have to wait nearly two years to see the second season of Westworld, however, as it’s not due to air until early 2018. Show runner Casey Bloys, who has seen the script for the second season, promises fans can expect just as much excitement as they saw in this first season.

“I didn’t know exactly what to expect in season 2. And what [Nolan and Joy] came up with is as exciting, mysterious and as fun as season 1. And completely original, as well.”
