Kanye West Allegedly Battles ‘Paranoia’ In Hospital: Kim Kardashian ‘Devoted’ Amid ‘Emotional Nightmare’

In the wake of the shocking news that rapper Kanye West had suddenly been hospitalized, allegations as to what led up to the hospitalization and how his wife Kim Kardashian responded have clashed. One media outlet reported that West felt under “spiritual attack,” while another claimed he was battling “paranoia,” and others listed “exhaustion” and “sleep deprivation” as the key causes of his health scare. As for Kim, reports of her reactions have ranged from “scared” to behaving like her husband’s strong, supportive “rock.”

People magazine told readers that the rapper, 39, had been hospitalized for exhaustion, citing a source who revealed West “feels like he’s under spiritual attack.” The hospitalization occurred only hours after he had canceled the dates left on his “Saint Pablo Tour,” and the insider clarified that Kanye’s doctor had advised the hospitalization.

“He is exhausted and currently dealing with sleep deprivation. He went to the hospital at will under the advise of his physician. He’s fine.”

But another account of what led up to West’s hospitalization includes allegations of paranoia and depression.

Us Weekly referenced a report from TMZ that described Kanye as “profoundly depressed and paranoid,” also alleging that he has “been dealing with these issues for a long time.”

“Sources close to West and his wife, Kim Kardashian, told TMZ that he allegedly believes people, specifically his doctors, are ‘out to get him,'” according to Us.

“[Kanye] also reportedly refused to let doctors touch him after he was first hospitalized at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.”

However, insiders told Us that West’s hospitalization was due to “exhaustion and sleep deprivation.” The admission to the hospital reportedly came after authorities received a call to go to the home of West’s trainer Harley Pasternak. There, Kanye allegedly was acting “erratically,” according to the media outlet.

For his concerned wife Kim, it’s been “scary,” an insider informed Us.

“Kim has been very concerned and supportive,” added the source.

In addition, Us Weekly revealed that Kardashian has been focused on “nursing” her husband “back to health,” citing a source’s report that Kim “has been sleeping by her husband’s side and helping to feed him while he’s in the hospital for exhaustion.” The insider described Kardashian as “amazing” and nurturing when it comes to caring for the hip-hop star.

“Kim has been amazing…She has been by [Kanye’s] side through all of this, helping to feed him and laying by his side.”

Comparing Kardashian’s actions in nursing West back to health to her sister Khloe Kardashian, who helped her ex Lamar Odom recover after an almost deadly drug overdose last year, the source pointed out that “the Kardashian women stick by their men.”

Kim even chose to spend her Thanksgiving holiday in the hospital with West.

“Kim wouldn’t leave his side except to see [their children North, 3, and Saint, 11 months],” added the insider. “She’s been at the hospital all the time [and is] being very careful about not letting him get wound up and making sure he rests and recovers.”

As for the details of how life has been for Kardashian since learning that West was hospitalized, TMZ reported on November 28 that Kim has been “in the middle of an emotional nightmare.” But the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has put that “nightmare…on hold” in order to devote herself to Kanye, sources told the media outlet.

Describing Kardashian as “an emotional wreck” in the wake of the terrifying Paris robbery, the insiders revealed that when Kanye “fell apart last week everything changed for her,” describing her devotion.

“[Kardashian] has become [her husband’s] rock, maintaining almost a constant vigil at UCLA Medical Center for a week.”

But the sources also claimed that the ordeal has been “excruciating” for Kim, alleging that “part of the paranoia that has overtaken Kanye” includes his “ranting people were trying to destroy their marriage.”

What’s next for Kardashian and West? She is hoping to take Kanye home “as early as today,” according to TMZ’s insiders, with her focus on helping him “get better.”

“She has been an unbelievably devoted spouse. He’s a lucky man,” summed up one of the insiders.

As Kanye recovers “from depression, dehydration and exhaustion,” he is “asking for prayers,” according to Hello Christian, which cited sources who expressed concern about his mental health.

“He’s surrounded by all these crazy people, but there’s nobody he listens to or who can rein him in,” said one of those insiders. “He’s spiraling further and further out of control. Basically, everything crazy he does is ‘art’ — canceling his tour is ‘art’ — he is becoming more and more unpredictable.”
