WWE News: Ronda Rousey Vs Charlotte ‘WrestleMania 33’ Match Still Planned, But It Will Not Be MMA-Style Fight

It is well known that WWE wants to bring Ronda Rousey in for a WrestleMania 33 appearance, but it’s unclear what type of appearance WWE will put her in that will allow for her and someone else to get a lot of attention. It is known by now that if a major sports star is part of WrestleMania, it will get a ton of media attention, and rightfully so.

WWE already has Big Show vs. NBA star Shaquille O’Neal set for the event, which is supposed to be Big Show’s last match with the WWE. The company is now trying to secure others from the sports world, but right now, things are up in the air. Meanwhile, WWE is doing a good job of coming up with backstage ideas for a few UFC stars.

Conor McGregor will possibly take part in WrestleMania 33, but he will by no means be wrestling or fighting on the show. The idea is that if he shows up, he will only do a promo with The Rock. Meanwhile, WWE is trying to do something special with Ronda Rousey. According to Forbes, WWE is trying to bring Ronda in and is determined to get her into the business sooner rather than later. Ronda has claimed she was not willing to fight well into her 30s before she took the loss to Holly Holm last year.

That said, she obviously wouldn’t do so and would most likely end up working with WWE while she has a good career in Hollywood, where she is making big waves already. The plan, if they can bring her in for WrestleMania 33, is to have her work with current WWE RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte, who has been WWE’s top female talent over the last year and a half.

While she most likely will not be the women’s champion at the time she faces Rousey, she would still be one of the top women in WWE and having her work with Ronda only elevates her. This would do wonders for WWE and Charlotte Flair, who could become a legend eventually with the career she’s had over the last few years. After all, it does run in the family.

There was a rumor regarding the match the two could have. Ronda Rousey would somehow face Charlotte in an MMA fight rather than a normal wrestling match. First and foremost, this is absolutely insane and makes no sense. Second, WWE would never risk the health of Charlotte Flair just to make sure Ronda Rousey looks awesome. Everyone knows Ronda is an amazing fighter, and beating Miss Flair in a fight would not be something that would impress people, as Charlotte is a wrestler, not a trained fighter.

Ronda Rousey may very well pull out some MMA moves in her match with Charlotte, but that would be part of her wrestling style and would not be out there to hurt Charlotte. Her goal is to work with Charlotte to make sure the two have a good match. Rousey knows this, which is why she would end up giving us a good storyline match.

For WWE to give the rub to Charlotte Flair, she has to look good enough in the match where they can talk about the time she took Ronda Rousey to her limit. Rousey obviously would still win the match, but if Charlotte is the one sticking around, she has to look good. This is why we could expect a good back and forth and not expect the match to end in 30 seconds like a number of Ronda’s fights.
