Youngest Jonas Brother, Frankie Jonas, ‘Remorseful’ For Pot Possession Bust & Fine In Nashville

Frankie Jonas, the youngest Jonas brother, was busted and fined for possessing pot on Tuesday. The 16-year-old “Bonus Jonas,” as JoBro fans like to call him, was caught with marijuana and cited by cops outside a convenience store in Nashville, Tennessee. Some reports say that Frankie Jonas was arrested, while other reports say he only received a citation. Gossip Cop says it’s not clear what happened exactly, but Frankie is reportedly remorseful about the whole ordeal, especially since he’s managed to “keep his nose clean” until now.

TMZ reports that “boys will be boys,” but sources close to the Jonas family say that Frankie Jonas is a good kid. However, it’s no secret that Frankie smokes. The youngest Jonas was seen smoking with brother Nick Jonas, 24, in a photo of the two golfing in Hawaii this month. The photo, that has since made its way around the internet after the recent marijuana bust, can be viewed on the NY Daily News, and shows Frankie Jonas smoking what appears to be either a cigar or a cigarette. But now fans are wondering if Frankie was really puffing on a cannabis cigarette.

Commercial cannabis cigarettes look a lot like tobacco cigarettes, especially from a distance, and marijuana is legal in Hawaii, but only for medical purposes, according to health.Hawaii.gov. In fact, there’s a whole list of health conditions one needs to have in order to smoke marijuana legally in Hawaii, including cancer, glaucoma, HIV, or seizures. And, even though Frankie Jonas prefers to “steer clear of the limelight,” according to Nick Jonas, diehard JoBro fans would probably already know if the youngest Jonas brother had any serious medical concerns that would justify smoking marijuana legally.

The incident took place outside a convenience store in Nashville on Tuesday night, and a source allegedly confirmed to ET Online that Frankie Jonas was not actually arrested, only cited for possession of marijuana, contrary to some other reports. Also unknown is whether or not Frankie was even smoking the pot. Reports say that the cops only found the illegal substance on Frankie Jonas, and TMZ only reported that the little JoBro brother was caught “red-handed” with “some illegal green on him,” leaving fans to only wonder if the squeaky-clean “Bonus Jonas” had been smoking the pot at the time he was busted.

One fan even commented that Frankie Jonas smokes pot to treat night blindness, a claim about cannabis that researchers have allegedly found to be true, according to the Guardian, but only if cannabis is smoked for hours before going into the dark. E! News said that other than this one mishap, Frankie Jonas has “stayed out of trouble for the most part,” as JoBro fans have watched him grow from a boy to a teen, ever since he played as himself on Kevin, 29, Joe, 27, and Nick’s reality TV series, Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream, in 2008, at only 7-years-old.

Frankie Jonas has been 16 for not quite two months and is already graduated from high school and attending college classes, according to InTouch Weekly. Frankie’s last two TV appearances were both in 2013 when he again played as himself in the reality TV series, titled Married to Jonas, which focused mainly on Kevin Jonas’ marriage to wife, Danielle Deleasa. Frankie also played as himself in the TV movie Gutsy Frog in 2013, as a middle school student who trips over a rock in an empty lot and squashes a frog, according to IMDB.

“When middle schooler Frankie trips over a rock and squashes him. However, the frog is reborn as an imprint on the front of Frankie’s shirt and now gives him advice and commentary on his life.”

Nick Jonas recently commented on his little brother’s early start to college this year, saying that he’s been proud watching his baby brother grow up, but that he needed to watch Nick’s 2016 hazing movie, titled Goat, before going off to college.

Just Jared shared some photos from Frankie’s past, and also says that Frankie Jonas is “remorseful” about his pot bust and citation on Tuesday, to which some readers replied that he’s probably only remorseful for getting caught, even though, only two months ago, Nashville reduced the penalty for getting caught with small amounts of marijuana from a criminal offence to a civil offence, according to the Tennessean.
