Ben and Lauren went on a trip to Honduras this month as part of Higgins’ work with the non-profit organization Humanity and Hope. This organization is all about helping to end poverty.
Ben Higgins shared a few details about the trip.
“It’s a huge vision, but with every village and every person who is influenced, we get closer to our goal. I’ve been to Honduras eight times and every time I go down I feel more hopeful. We were able to celebrate with nine students, the first students who have ever moved onto secondary school in their village, thanks to Humanity and Hope. One of the girls said that a year ago, she thought her life was going to be making tortillas and that now she hopes to become a lawyer to help people who don’t have a voice.”
Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell are back in the United States, and they are getting used to not having their entire lives filmed. They were on The Bachelor, and then they filmed their reality show. The couple had originally planned a big television wedding on ABC, but Ben made the choice that he wasn’t ready to get married just yet. This doesn’t mean he is breaking up with Lauren, though. It sounds like things are going great for Ben and Lauren right now.
Ben recently shared an update, saying, “We’re still engaged, and we’re still together. We are building a foundation, and we’re taking every day one step at a time. That’s what I’m excited about.”

Lauren Bushnell added, “This trip brought us closer together. We weren’t ready to jump into a wedding. And we both needed to take a step back from life in the limelight. Me understanding a little bit more of where Ben’s heart is was so important and exactly what we needed.”
Ben Higgins actually said that their relationship is better than ever right now, but he still does want to marry Lauren.
Us Magazine shared that Ben Higgins is also revealing that a low point in his life happened while Lauren was with him, but that doesn’t mean that she is the problem. Ben said a high point of his life was when they got engaged, but then he went on to explain a low point in his life.
“My low would be knowing for certain we were right for each other, having the blissful idea of what life would be like…. It’s also been hard. I had this idea that life would just be easy-breezy, and it’s not. I don’t want you sad, I don’t want you confused. I just want to see you rock this life.”
Ben Higgins even admitted that he made a huge mistake by pushing off their wedding. Now, the fans are just going to have to wait and see when they actually end up tying the knot. Hopefully, they let everyone see it on ABC.
