KBS Drama Awards 2016: Song Joong-Ki, Song Hye-Kyo To Grace The Red Carpet On December 31
South Korean actors Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo are all set for another star-studded event. If fans are lucky, the Hallyu heartthrobs will attend the KBS Drama Awards ceremony on December 31.
The 29th KBS Drama Awards will be handed out to actors and actresses who have shown outstanding performance in KBS dramas. The mega event will be held at KBS Hall in Yeouido.

Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo haven’t confirmed their attendance yet, but it is highly unlikely that the duo will give the red carpet gala a miss.
The awards night is an initiative of KBS, the network that aired Descendants of the Sun. In all probability, Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo will win an award in at least one of the categories.
When the K-drama Descendants of the Sun first aired in February, not only did it create a good first impression, but it also left a lasting impact on its viewers. The love story between a soldier and a doctor captured the hearts of many that it spread from South Korea to Asia to U.S. to Europe.
There’s one more reason for the SongSong couple to turn up at the event. The host of the grand gala is actor Park Bo-gum, whom both actors are friends with. The Moonlight Drawn By Clouds actor will also hopefully take home an award. Last year, Park Bo-gum won the award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in I Remember You.
KBS has not yet announced the nominees for this year. However, the award categories show that there is hope for both Descendants of the Sun and Moonlight Drawn By Clouds.

There is a good chance that the writers of the military romance Kim Eun-sook and Won-Suk Kim will also take home an award.
According to a report by K-Pop Herald, the likely candidates for awards also include Kim Woo-bin and Suzy from Uncontrollably Fond, Kim Yoo-jung from Moonlight Drawn by Clouds, Park Shin-yang from Neighborhood lawyer Jo Deul-ho.
However, fans of the SongSong couple are rooting for their favorite stars.
Recently, Hallyu heartthrobs Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo won the President’s Award. Both actors played a key role in altering the South Korean entertainment scene.

Even the online presence of both these stars is huge. Despite China imposing a ban on all South Korean celebrities, the Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo still have fans in China.
In fact, Song Joong-ki topped the list for the most searched South Korean actor on Chinese search engine Baidu, while Song Hye-kyo ranked first among the most searched South Korean actress on Google.
After the conclusion of Descendants of the Sun, Song Joong-ki is now filming Battleship Island, which is slated for an early release next year.
Song Hye-kyo, on the other hand, is waiting for an opportune moment to grab a meaningful role. The actress who recently celebrated her 35th birthday has made it clear that she is choosy about her next big role, perhaps one that would help her bag more awards.
