Rebecca Romijn Shades Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner: ‘Are We Bringing Our Mommies In Now?’

Rebecca Romijn went off on Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner yet again. The actress made an appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live alongside reality star Cynthia Bailey on Sunday night (Nov. 20).

There is no denying that Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner are two of the hottest supermodels right now. Their social media following and selfies have put them at the top of the fashion industry. Both of the girls also come from reality star beginnings. Gigi Hadid’s mother, Yolanda Hadid, is an alum of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Kendall Jenner is a part of the famous Jenner-Kardashian clan and long-running Keeping Up With the Kardashians series.

The young models got involved in a feud with Rebecca Romijn earlier this year. The feud was such a big deal that Gigi’s mom Yolanda even got involved. Romijn tried to settle things but shaded the starlets once again when she appeared on Andy Cohen’s show to share her side of the story.

“I don’t even know why she got involved. I was like, ‘Oh, are we bringing our mommies in now? Should I get my mom?’ I thought that it was really none of her business. I was commenting about models on social media. Fashion in general should not be followers… it should be leading the pack; leading the way. And somehow, these names got thrown into the mix – I was never calling anyone out. But when Yolanda got involved, I was like, ‘Why the mom now?'”

Still, Rebecca admits that “it felt pretty good” to tweet Yolanda in her “first Twitter war,” according to the Bravo blog.

“When I was a kid, I loved Yolanda as a model,” she told Andy. “She used to be in my mom’s catalogues when I was growing up. I was totally aware of Yolanda. She was a great model.”

Her fellow guest, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey, felt there was some shade thrown at both of the girls, and Yolanda Foster.

“That wasn’t even low-key shade. That was just regular shade,” she said as she laughed in her seat.

Back in April, Romijn found herself in a sudden social media feud with Yolanda Hadid after the comments she made in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. She implied that both Gigi and Kendall’s career was based on their social media followings rather than their hard work or merit.

“No one has proven yet that numbers of followers translates to revenue,” the 43-year-old former model told ET when she supposedly asked about the “the new generation of models such as Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid.”

“So it is frustration,” Romijn added. “I know a lot of people – legitimate fashion people – can’t stand. Hate it that these, you know, social media stars are now the supermodels in fashion.”

“They are not true supermodels,” she continued. “And the thing is, I have always looked to Vogue magazine to lead the way, not be a follower. … So I have been disappointed that fashion magazines have been supporting this trend of social media stars to set our style standards.”

The 52-year-old reality star fired back at Romijn, calling both girls “amazing & beautiful” on Twitter.

“Kind, hard working and they accomplished more at half your age in the fashion industry,” Hadid tweeted. Romijn, however, said she “never talked smack” about Gigi or Kendall in her interview with Entertainment Tonight. However, Romijn’s interview with the outlet clearly states their names.
