Selena Gomez’s Thanksgiving Plans: What Will Singer Do After Leaving Rehab?

Selena Gomez is officially back in the spotlight, and after making her post-rehab debut during last night’s 2016 American Music Awards, fans are wondering what she will be doing next.

After allegedly spending several weeks at a rehabilitation center outside of Nashville, Tennessee, where she was photographed just a few times, Selena Gomez is reportedly heading home to Texas, where she allegedly plans to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with her family.

“[Selena Gomez] is going home for Thanksgiving to be with her family,” an insider told Hollywood Life on November 21. “That’s always the most important thing to her.”

Selena Gomez reportedly entered a treatment facility weeks ago after telling People Magazine that she was in need of some time off. And while she did not speak of the stint directly, nor has she confirmed where she was receiving help for what she cited as anxiety, panic attacks, and depression, Us Weekly claimed last month that Selena Gomez was in Tennessee to “focus on her mental health.”

As the 24-year-old singer attempted to tackle her mental struggles, she reportedly spent time with several family members, including her mother, Mandy, her stepfather, Brian, and her grandparents. As the magazine revealed in October, Selena Gomez visited a Texas Roadhouse in Alcoa for dinner on October 8, where she was spotted spending time with fans and posing for photos.

“[Selena Gomez] was just like any other guest,” the steakhouse’s manager told the magazine. “She was really nice and tipped well.”

On social media, Selena Gomez’s fans shared numerous photos and videos of the singer on Instagram and Twitter.

One day later, Selena Gomez popped up at the Riverstone Restaurant in Townsend, Tennessee, where she enjoyed breakfast with her grandparents. According to a source, Selena Gomez was seen laughing as she ate and appeared “happy and relaxed.”

In addition to spending time with family throughout the holidays, Selena Gomez will likely be doing her best to stay healthy as her battle with lupus rages on.

“Selena Gomez has not experienced a lot of relief from classic western medicine, and is seeking alternative treatments for her lupus diagnosis,” a source close to the singer told Hollywood Life in September.

While Selena Gomez hasn’t announced her specific plan of attack when it comes to her ongoing treatment, the source claimed the singer was hoping to see better results after reportedly taking a holistic approach to calm her symptoms.

“[Selena Gomez] wants to begin ‘chelation therapy,’ which is a method of pulling toxins and metals out of the body. She’s switched to an all organic, grain-free diet, and thoroughly ‘detoxed’ her house. All her soaps, beauty products, and cleaning supplies are natural and organic,” the source explained. “She’s also juicing 3 times a day. Her new team of doctors thinks drugs will only cover up the problem, but [these methods] will really help, if not cure [her lupus]!”

Selena Gomez revealed she had been diagnosed with lupus last year after mysteriously disappearing months prior to an alleged stint in rehab. Although it was rumored that the singer had sought treatment for issues with addiction, she later revealed she had gone away to treat the illness, which the public did not know she had up until that point.

“I was diagnosed with [autoimmune disease] Lupus, and I’ve been through chemotherapy. That’s what my break was really about. I could’ve had a stroke,” Selena Gomez said, according to a report by Billboard magazine.

Selena Gomez explained that while she wanted to shut down the drug rumors right away, she eventually decided to hide out until she was confident and comfortable again.
