Kanye West Concert Goers Issued Refunds After Rapper Rants, Ends Show Early

Kanye West took his “Saint Pablo Tour” to Sacramento on Saturday night where he proceeded to rant instead of rap. Over 13,000 concert goers waited for West, who was more than an hour late, to start the show at the newly built Golden 1 Center, reported the Sacramento Bee. When he finally did take the stage at 10:30 p.m., it was to perform two or three songs before launching into one of his infamous rants.

Kanye ranted about everything from Beyonce and Jay-Z to politics and Hillary Clinton. He went on to rant about MTV’s 2016 Video of the Year, which was won by Beyonce, by insinuating she bribed the network.

“Beyoncé, I was hurt. ‘Cause I heard that you said you wouldn’t perform unless you won Video of the Year over me and over ‘Hotline Bling.'”

After his rant was over, so was the show. Kanye told “the press” to get ready to write their “passive aggressive comments” because the show was over, reported Entertainment Tonight. West then dropped his mic and ran off stage amid loud boos from the crowd.

Fans reportedly spent up to $250 for lower-level seats at the concert, and the Sacramento Bee reported that Ticketmaster and Live Nation are offering refunds for all tickets. While some concert goers have already begun calling to get their money back, others are waiting to see if Kanye reschedules his Sacramento show. However, it seems Kanye is more into ranting than he is rapping these days.

West told fans on Saturday that he was sent to give them his “truth,” which apparently does not include performing his top hit singles.

“I been sent here to give y’all my truth, even at the risk of my own life, my own success, my own career.”

The Sacramento rant comes on the heels of Kanye’s similar performance in San Jose on November 17, where he said he would have voted for Trump, if he had voted. He added he may still run for president in 2020, according to USA Today.

Kanye is set to perform his “Saint Pablo Tour” in Inglewood, Calif. tonight, Sunday, at 8:00 p.m., followed by a show in Anaheim on Wednesday. Fans will be anxiously watching to see if the rapper continues his rants, or if Kanye will perform a full concert instead.

West is continuing on with his tour following wife Kim Kardashian’s Paris robbery. Kardashian, who had been attending all of her husband’s shows, has yet to make an appearance following the robbery. Kim had been openly SnapChatting scenes from Kanye’s shows as he took his tour on the road.

Kanye had cancelled several shows after he had to leave his October 2 New York concert early upon hearing news of the robbery. He informed fans of a “family emergency” before stopping the show.

“I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry, there’s a family emergency. I have to stop the show.”

He returned to the tour with an October 7 show in Chicago, where he was over an hour late to the stage. Kanye didn’t address Kim or the Paris robbery, and reportedly only spoke to the crowd to say “it’s good to be home.”

Now, it seems Kanye has a lot to say as he continues to end his shows with his off-topic rants. In fact, a new hashtag has been created to show just how upset fans are with Kanye.

Dubbed “Kanye is over party,” fans— and non-fans— are using the hashtag to express their frustrations with the rapper’s latest antics. And as Kanye continues to end shows early, it seems he is giving fans plenty of reason to use the hashtag.
