‘The Walking Dead’ Spoilers: Daryl’s Secret Message To Rick

The Walking Dead viewers may have missed a huge moment during Season 7’s fourth episode on Sunday night. All the clues were there, and some very observant fans noticed something pretty amazing between Daryl and Rick.

Warning: Major Walking Dead Season 7 spoilers below.

According to Comic Book, a new Walking Dead theory is making the rounds online. The theory, which started on Reddit, claims that Daryl Dixon and Rick Grimes may have been speaking to each other in Morse code throughout the entire episode. Fans believe that Daryl’s rapid blinking upon arriving at Alexandria with Negan was a message to Rick. Of course, many viewers also believe that Rick sent his own message to Daryl by taping Negan’s bat, Lucille, on the ground.

While this latest Walking Dead Season 7 theory may be hard to believe, it does appear that it’s very likely. As fans will remember, at the beginning of the extended 90-minute episode a large poster of the American morse code was seen hanging on the wall at Rick’s Alexandria home. Many viewers noticed this poster, and now it seems to be a hint at the secret exchange between Daryl and Rick.

While no one knows yet what Rick and Daryl’s secret messages may have been about, Blasting News reports that it does seem likely that the two friends are cooking up some plan to hopefully take Negan down and return Daryl home to Alexandria where he belongs.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Rick and Daryl‘s Morse code moment wasn’t the only shocking part of Sunday’s episode. The Walking Dead fans watched as Negan and The Saviors made their first trip to Alexandria to collect supplies from the group. However, instead of taking half of everything, Negan decided to take all of some things, such as the guns, and leave others, like the food, untouched. While Rick looked angry, his fear took over and he decided that it was much better to follow Negan’s orders than to get anyone else in the group killed. Negan’s visit was intense, but it was an emotional scene between Rick and Michonne that had fans talking.

During the scene, Rick tells Michonne about his friendship with Shane, and how it was Shane who led Lori and Carl to safety when the apocalypse began. However, when Rick finally found his wife and son, Shane and Lori were already engaged in a sexual relationship, which they ended upon Rick’s arrival. Later, when Lori found out that she was pregnant, the big question was about the paternity of the baby. Rick told Michonne all about the difficult time, and also revealed that he knew baby Judith wasn’t his. Rick was candid and honest as he revealed that Shane was the father of the child, but that he loved her with all of his heart and would die for her. Of course, this is the first time that Rick has mentioned Shane in years, and the memory of the situation took Walking Dead fans back to the beginning of the series. Michonne seemed to sympathize with Rick, and later agreed to try and find a way to live under Negan’s thumb.

Meanwhile, spoilers for the next four episodes have been revealed and claim that Maggie and Sasha will finally find themselves at the Hilltop. This will be the first time that Walking Dead fans see Maggie since Glenn’s death in the Season 7 premiere. Meanwhile, Rick will also reportedly lose control and set Alexandria on fire during the mid-season finale.

It looks like fans of The Walking Dead have a lot to look forward to as Season 7 continues to push towards the mid-season finale.
