Greg Daniels And Craig Robinson Teaming Up For New NBC Comedy

The Office will soon be coming to a close but several people from the show could find new homes on NBC. Rainn Wilson is currently in talks to star in a spin-off to The Office and series creator Greg Daniels is currently working on a new show with Craig Robinson.

The new show won’t have any story line ties To The Office but it will involve several people who have worked on the NBC show. Daniels will be producing the new show, supervising producer of The Office Owen Ellickson will be writing the script, and Craig Robinson, who plays Darryl Philbin, will be starring in untitled project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new show will focus on a talented musician (Robinson) who gets a job at a middle school in a big city.

Daniels and Robinson have their post-Office plans lined up and so do several other members from the show. Mindy Kaling, who plays Kelly Kapoor on the hit NBC show, is already starring on her own show, The Mindy Project, and Paul Lieberstein is currently working on a potential spin-off that will feature Rainn Wilson.

The potential spin-off will be called The Farm and will focus on Wilson’s character Dwight Schrute and his beet farm. Wilson recently revealed on Reddit that several of his soon-to-be-former cast members will make appearances on the new show.

Wilson said:

“(The Farm is) just terrific. It’s weird and yet accessible. It’s a rural family comedy! Geese and goats and Schrutes and hi-jinx at the Bed and Breakfast.”
