Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Romance Confirmed! He Is ‘Deeply Disappointed’ In ‘Abuse And Harassment’

It’s official! Prince Harry finally admitted that he has been secretly dating Meghan Markle over the past couple of months. The Daily Mail reports that Harry released a statement on the matter and criticized the media for how they handled his romance with the Suits star.

While Harry opened up about his love life, he also admitted that his is “worried about Ms. Markle’s safety” after the “wave of abuse and harassment” they fought once their romance went public.

Harry bashed the media and fans alike, calling them out for being sexist and racist about his romance. He even lamented his inability to protect Markle and cautioned everyone that “this is not a game — it is her life and his.”

Harry’s secret love life was finally breached when fans noticed the couple’s matching friendship bracelets. The pair kept quiet about their romance until Harry felt like the media had crossed a line. He released an official statement because he believed it wasn’t right that Markle “should be subjected to such a storm.”

“[Markle faced] the smear on the front page of a national newspaper; the racial undertones of comment pieces; and the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments,” he wrote in the letter.

Harry first met Markle during an event in Canada this past summer. Markle is best known for her part as Rachel Zane on the hit drama Suits. The couple continued to see each other after the event, and Harry is believed to have traveled back and forth to Canada on numerous occasions over the past few months.

Markle has also spent some time in London. Their romance got to the point that Harry even introduced her to Prince Williams and Kate and his father, Prince Charles.

“He is also aware that there is significant curiosity about his private life. He has never been comfortable with this, but he has tried to develop a thick skin,” the official statement reads. “Harry has been very aware of the warmth that has been extended to him by members of the public. He feels lucky to have so many people supporting him and knows what a fortunate and privileged life he leads.”

The statement was released by Jason Kauf, the official communications secretary at Kensington Palace. Kauf added some members of the media have attempted to break into Markle’s home and that the statement was necessary to stop such injustices.

Harry has been linked to several different women in the past, including Ellie Goulding and Camilla Thurlow. He became a single man a few years back after his breakup with Cressida Bonas.

Given the intense media coverage of Harry’s love life, the Guardian reports that he is very concerned about Markle’s safety. Harry hopes that coming clean about the romance will stop future media attacks against Markle.

“Prince Harry is worried about Ms Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her. He has asked for this statement to be issued in the hopes that those in the press who have been driving this story can pause and reflect before any further damage is done. He knows that it is unusual to issue a statement like this, but hopes that fair-minded people will understand why he has felt it necessary to speak publicly.”

Part of the smear campaign Harry referenced in the letter includes an attempt to link the actress to an online adult entertainment site. Markle was shown depicted on the front page of Pornhub, even though the clip was just a scene from the popular TV show.

While the frenzy surrounding Harry’s new girlfriend continues, Us Magazine is reporting that Kate Middleton can’t wait to brush shoulders with the Suits star. Luckily, Kate won’t have to wait long before she meets Markle for the first time.

“Kate is really keen to see what Meghan is all about,” a source revealed, adding that Markle is already preparing for another trip to London.

Of course, Markle has already met some members of the royal family. The actress allegedly visited London during Harry’s 32nd birthday party in Scotland and met some of the prince’s closest friends.

“I’d call the visit a coming-out party. It would have been the first time some of his close friends got to meet her,” an insider stated. “It went really well. Everyone loved Meghan.”

The only question remaining is just how serious Harry is about his new romance. According to Vanity Fair, Harry is falling head over heels for Markle, who feels the exact same way.

“Harry loves her and she loves him,” Grant Harrold, a former butler, explained. “And that will be what matters in the eyes of the Queen and Prince Charles. I don’t see any reason why Meghan couldn’t be The One.”

Whether or not Harry’s relationship with Markle stands the test of time is anyone’s guess. Whatever happens, at least fans know for sure that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are together. Here’s to hoping they last.
