Atlanta Falcons Vs. Philadelphia Eagles: Bold Predictions For Week 10 Of 2016 NFL Season

The Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles have playoff contender written all over them. Luckily for the fans, these squads will duke it out in Week 10 of the 2016 NFL season.

Atlanta enters this duel with a 6-3 record while Philadelphia enters with a 4-4 record. One could say the Falcons have some momentum going for them as they have won their last two games. Meanwhile, the opposite can be said about the Eagles as they have dropped back-to-back contests.

Nonetheless, this is an exciting matchup on paper.

Atlanta is arguably the best offensive team in the league, and they are racking up 33.9 points per game to prove it (ranked No. 1 in the NFL in that category). However, the Falcons’ defense ranks near the bottom when it comes to points allowed per game. They are giving up 28.8 points per contest. As for the Eagles, they are averaging 25.3 points per game (ranked 10th) and they are only allowing 18.1 points per game (ranked sixth).

If nothing else, the quarterback battle between Matt Ryan and Carson Wentz is rather intriguing. One is a veteran (Ryan) and the other is a rookie (Wentz).

Before these two teams battle it out on the field, make sure to get your fix of bold predictions.

Matt Ryan Furthers His MVP Case With 350 Or More Passing Yards, Three Touchdowns

Matt Ryan is arguably the best quarterback in the game in 2016. Of course, Tom Brady’s case will become stronger as he gets more games in the books.

Stats aren’t everything, but they are certainly tough to overlook when a player is setting the league on fire. Enter Ryan’s stats. The quarterback is leading the league in yards (2,980), touchdown passes (23), and he only has four interceptions. His completion percentage is also a whopping 69.6 percent, which is third-best in the NFL.

In terms of 300-yard (or more) performances, Ryan has five to his name already. Reminder, the Falcons have only played nine games.

Needless to say, Ryan has the goods to destroy opposing defenses, and he is currently in the MVP talks. He will further his MVP case by dropping 350 or more passing yards and three touchdowns on the Eagles’ defense.

Nelson Agholor Has His Best Game Of The Season

Nelson Agholor has yet to record a 100-yard game in 2016, but that will all change on Sunday. Just remember, these are bold predictions, and this prediction clearly fits the bill. In fact, Agholor’s season high in the receiving yards department is 57, and that came in the first game of the season.

It doesn’t hurt the wide receiver’s cause that Atlanta is allowing 289.6 passing yards per game. There are 32 teams in the NFL, and the Falcons’ D ranks 31st in the passing-yards-per-game department. If the USC product is going to break out, it might as well be against Atlanta.

Atlanta Continues To Look Like A Super Bowl Contender, Wins By Double-Digits

There are a few reasons why this is bold: (1) The Falcons will be playing on the road. (2) The Eagles are undefeated at home in 2016 (3-0). (3) Philadelphia is stingy on the defensive side of the ball.

With that in mind, Atlanta has arguably the best offense in the NFL, Ryan could end up being the MVP when this season is in the books, and this squad is the real deal. After all, the Falcons have knocked off the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders in 2016. Not to mention, the Eagles have now lost four out of their last five games. If they don’t start winning games in a hurry, then their possible playoff spot will be nothing more than a distant memory.

Atlanta winning by double-digits certainly kicks up the bold prediction meter a notch or two. Time will tell, but the Falcons’ winning streak will still be intact after Week 10.
