Kim Kardashian: Why She Chose To Fire Bodyguard Blamed For Paris Robbery Attack

Kim Kardashian has fired her bodyguard, Pascal Duvier, who was infamously known to have been absent from the reality star’s presence in the midst of being attacked and robbed of her personal belongings in Paris last month.

As fans will recall, Kim had instructed Pascal to watch over Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner as they partied with their close friends while the 36-year-old opted to head back to her apartment, stressing she was too tired for a night out.

Kim Kardashian’s decision to have her bodyguard leave her on her own ended up backfiring, as a group of men marched their way through the building where the socialite was staying at, held her at gunpoint and demanded to receive the most expensive items she had in the apartment.

And while Kim takes responsibility for letting Pascal leave her on her own, according to Hollywood Life, the mother of two and her team have come to the decision that letting Pascal go is the best decision she could make.

Sources say the move to fire Duvier from his duties wasn’t personal, nor was it related to the fact that the bodyguard was absent from Kim Kardashian’s presence at the time of the robbery. It more or less has to do with the fact that the socialite is changing up her group of security.

Following the incident last month, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have hired a handful of skilled security members, who are now believed to be protecting Kim and her children at all times.

Kim has several bodyguards at her home — even when she’s not there. The terrifying ordeal in Paris has traumatized her enough to realize that her safety shouldn’t be played with, and if she can pay more money for better security, then she’s definitely not going to hesitate in doing just that.

Kanye West was said to have been very influential in the move to have Pascal removed from his duties as Kim Kardashian’s full-time bodyguard. Again, the rapper didn’t make the decision based on the events that transpired in Paris; they are now working with a new security firm and simply no longer require Pascal’s services.

“The decision wasn’t personal but a complete overhauling of security after the incident,” a source tells Us Weekly. “Pascal was with Kourtney and Kendall Jenner at L’Arc Nightclub. Kim felt safe in the apartment by herself.”

“Kim is not blaming Pascal. She felt completely safe at the Paris apartment and doesn’t believe this is his fault in any way.”

Kim Kardashian has remained a low profile since last month’s shocking incident that left her thinking she would never see her children again.

She’s slowly but surely making her return to social media, having already agreed to continue shooting scenes for the forthcoming series of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, set to air sometime in January.

Regarding her businesses, however, Kim knows that she needs to be present on her social media platforms to sustain the success of her empire, which includes her mobile gaming app, her beauty products, sponsorship deals, and clothing collections.

X-17 concluded by saying, “It was nothing personal. Pascal was just reassigned to another client by his parent company. He doesn’t carry a gun, so Kim needed someone else to take over her security staff, to make sure all the bodyguards have gun permits.”

No word on when Kim Kardashian plans to make her official comeback on social media. For the time being, she’s simply enjoying the time she’s spending with her family — North and Saint, in particular.
