Lindsay Lohan’s Weird, New Accent Explained By Her Dad Michael — Also, What’s In Store For Lilo In Late 2016?

Lindsay Lohan’s strange, new accent has caused quite a stir in the last couple of days, as previously reported by the Inquisitr, with many people wondering if the actress is starting to lose it on account of her recent breakup from former fiance Tarabasov. But her dad, Michael Lohan, just made it clear that Lilo’s fans have nothing to worry about.

Michael talked to Entertainment Tonight to explain Lindsay Lohan’s new accent, which the Mean Girls actress showcased in an interview following the opening of her Greek nightclub last month. The video of said interview went viral on Tuesday. Fans of the actress remarked that the accent sounded odd, but they can’t quite figure out if it’s more similar sounding to British or Australian or Russian or Turkish or — you get the point. Watch the video below and you decide.

But now Lindsay’s father, Michael Lohan, said that his daughter’s strange manner of speaking shouldn’t be a matter of concern, explaining that she sounded the way she did in said interview because she’s learning multiple languages and is often switching between them as the need arises. Michael said that on top of speaking French, Lindsay is also speaking Arabic and Farsi, and has often “played around” with different accents and languages.

“Lindsay picks up languages like I pick up a coffee!” Michael tells ET. “I will tell you this, she’s spoken other languages on the phone with me — languages I don’t understand. I’ll be on the phone with her and I’ll hear her say something in fluent Farsi to a friend she’s with.”

Lindsay’s mom, Dina Lohan, 54, echoed Michael’s statements, telling ET on Wednesday about her daughter’s aptitude for languages.

“I raised Lindsay and all my children to constantly learn different languages and embrace different cultures. Since Lindsay was a kid, she was speaking fluent Italian because my mother is Italian and would only speak to her in it. She taught herself how to speak French, Arabic, Hebrew and the list goes on. Lindsay has a very high IQ and is very intelligent and can pick up on any language in a minute. She has that gift.”

“She is a worldly person who has so many talents and so much to offer, and that’s what makes her so special and so beautiful,” Mrs. Lohan added.

Lindsay went through a lot of rough patches in the last several years. The most recent of which was her much-publicized breakup with ex Egor Tarabasov, whom she accused of physically abusing her numerous times.

But Michael, 56, says that Lindsay is doing “absolutely amazing” now even in the aftermath of her abusive relationship with Tarabasov.

“She’s so happy and healthy and doing great,” he says “Every time I talk to her she’s so positive. There’s nothing to be concerned about.”

To reiterate his point, Michael said that Lindsay has been keeping herself busy with charity work, the recent of which involving helping out Syrian refugees in Turkey. He revealed that Lilo also has ambitions of being a U.N. Ambassador. With her gift for languages, it’s fair to say that Lindsay has a fair shot at earning that distinction.

As for her plans in the latter months of 2016, Michael revealed that Lindsay is planning to return to the United States for Christmas so she can spend the holidays with him, her mother Dina, her siblings, and his two sons with Kate Major.

“We’ll be spending Christmas together with the whole family — Dina, the kids, my boys, everyone!” he said.
