Leah Messer’s Daughter Photographed Holding Gun: ‘Teen Mom 2’ Star Jeremy Calvert Under Fire
Leah Messer has found herself in the middle of a social media firestorm regarding her 3-year-old daughter and ex-husband, Jeremy Calvert. The two have been divorced for over a year now and moved on with their lives. It seems that Messer and Calvert have a good parenting relationship for the most part, as there have not been any publicized custody battles between the two. Adalynn spends time with both her mom and dad, and one photograph that was taken while she was with Calvert has caused a public outcry. Messer is getting a lot of attention for something that didn’t even happen in her care.
It has been a long couple of years for Leah Messer. She has lived her life in the public eye by being on Teen Mom 2. She has been married and divorced twice, and she has faced harsh criticism about her parenting. Messer isn’t perfect and doesn’t pretend she is just for the camera.
According to Radar Online, Leah Messer’s daughter Adalynn was photographed holding a hunting rifle while in her father’s care. Jeremy Calvert snapped a photo of his daughter holding the rifle and captioned it with something silly. Immediately, fans started attacking both him and Messer. While he has stated that the weapon was not loaded, that is not good enough for the fans who believe he was irresponsible at best.

There have been calls for DCFS to get involved and other ugly comments made about the parenting decisions by Leah Messer and Jeremy Calvert. With all of the gun violence happening and the accidents that occur involving children and weapons each year, this picture really struck a nerve with Teen Mom 2 fans. Calvert has tried to defend his actions over and over again, always falling back to the fact that it was not loaded. Some fans stepped up to commend him for his effort in teaching his daughter about guns, but most were less than impressed.
Being a parent in the public eye can be difficult, which Leah Messer knows all too well. She is getting comments about allowing her daughter to be with Jeremy Calvert with guns in the house. While it may not be a great idea to have a 3-year-old around guns, he said he keeps this one unloaded. Messer cannot forbid him to keep firearms out of his home as long as he owns them legally. Despite the fact that the photo of Adalynn may have been in poor taste, there isn’t anything that can be done about it.
Teen Mom 2 hasn’t been easy filming for either parent. They have both expressed the desire to stop filming, but they have signed on for at least one more season.
