‘Dancing With The Stars’ Week 8: Who’s Going Home Monday After The Halloween Night Dance-Off?

Dancing with the Stars celebrates Halloween Night with some ghoulishly good dances performed by the seven remaining couples including Halloween-themed dances and a competitive dance-off.

Although one couple will go home on Monday night, there’s a chance they will be able to win immunity and save themselves from elimination even if they had the lowest combination of judges’ scores and viewers’ votes from last week’s Eras Night (Week 7) performances.

UPDATE: Find out who went home tonight here.

Before we get to the buzz about the couple who will be going home this week, here’s the scoop on the couples’ Halloween Night dances and the dance-off that will take place during Monday night’s show.

Halloween Night Couples’ Dances

  • Marilu Henner & Derek Hough – Argentine Tango – “Sweet Dreams” by Emily Browning
  • Laurie Hernandez and Valentin Chmerkovskiy – Viennese Waltz – “Pure Imagination” by Jane Monheit
  • James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess – Viennese Waltz – “You Don’t Own Me” by Grace ft. G-Easy from Suicide Squad
  • Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lindsay Arnold – Quickstep – “Dr. Bones” by Cherry Poppin’ Daddies
  • Terra Jolé and Sasha Farber – Cha Cha – “Day – O” by Harry Belafonte
  • Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko – Jazz – “Little Shop of Horrors” by Alan Menken
  • Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke – Tango – “Howlin’ For You” by The Black Keys

Per ABC, the highest-scoring couple from the first round of dances listed above will receive immunity and will not have to compete in the dance-off. The remaining six couples will dance off against each other doing one of the following dances — cha cha, salsa, or jive.

The winner of each dance-off will get an extra three points added to their scores on Monday night while the couple who receives immunity will get an extra five points.

Which couple will be eliminated on Monday night?

While it’s difficult to predict who will win immunity on Halloween Night, there’s a good chance the couple who gets eliminated is one of the three who were at the bottom of the leaderboard last week — although that hasn’t always been the case this season.

Last week, two couples topped the leaderboard with a total score of 74 — Calvin and Lindsay, and James and Sharna. These two couples have been doing very well this season, so even if they don’t win immunity on Monday night, there is a good chance they will be sticking around for at least another week, if not more.

Ryan and Cheryl continue to hover around the bottom of the leaderboard and it’s a shocker that they have made it this far. Buddy TV‘s John Kubicek writes that he hopes Ryan goes this week, but it’s clear that votes from Team Cherloc’s fans have been saving them from elimination, so we shall see.

Marilu and Derek landed at the very bottom of the leaderboard with a 64 last week, and that can’t be making Derek happy. According to ET Online, Derek is a six-time Dancing with the Stars Mirrorball Trophy winner, so winning immunity tonight will be important if he wants a chance of getting in the finals.

Rounding out the bottom three last week — as far as lowest judges’ scores go — were Jana and Gleb. Host Tom Bergeron revealed that they were in jeopardy last week, but they squeaked by for another week when he announced that Maureen and Artem were eliminated.

Unless they win immunity during the first round of dances, there’s a good chance fans could see Ryan, Marilu, and Jana on the chopping block this week. But who will be eliminated?

The buzz seems to point to Ryan going home, but he keeps proving everyone wrong, so tune in to watch Dancing with the Stars Week 8 on October 31 at 8 p.m. ET to find out how things turn out for Ryan and the other six couples.
