‘Teen Mom OG’ Sneak Peek: Amber Portwood Lets Matt Baier’s Son Move In [VIDEO]
Reality star Amber Portwood proved she’s accepted her fiance Matt Baier’s past and that includes his children. In a new Teen Mom OG sneak peek for next week’s episode, Amber opens up her home to Matt’s oldest son Christopher and lets him move in to her new house in order to help him get sober.
During last week’s episode, fans were introduced to Matt’s son 26-year-old son Christopher, which means he’s the same age as his father’s fiancee, Teen Mom OG Amber Portwood, according to Radar Online. But age isn’t the only thing Amber has in common with her future stepson—Christopher, like his father, is also struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. Even though it’s been ten years since he’s seen his father, Christopher reached out to Matt and Amber for help.
Matt and Amber agreed to help and invited Christopher to meet them in Los Angeles where the Teen Mom OG stars made an appearance on Dr. Drew Pinsky’s show in order to clear up rumors about them, some of which were started by Christopher when he sold fake stories to the tabloids in order to fuel his addiction, according to Us Weekly.
Amber Portwood forgave Christopher and she even agreed to let him fly back from L.A. with her and Matt and let him move into their new home in an upscale neighborhood in Amber’s home state of Indiana. In the Teen Mom OG sneak peek, the clip opened with Amber, Matt and Christopher arriving at the house.
“So this is the house,” Matt told Christopher as they pulled into the driveway of the new home he and Amber bought in a previous episode of Teen Mom OG.
Matt and Amber’s dogs greeted them at the front door after their trip to L.A. before they showed Matt’s son the upstairs bedroom he will be staying in. Christopher expressed his appreciation for their generosity, and that’s when Matt and Amber started laying down the rules of the house.
“So you don’t have to worry about sitting around the house,” Matt told Christopher. “You’re an adult, you can do what you want. Just remember, no drugs, no drinking in the house and stuff like that cause we can’t be around that either.”
“In the end, you have to make the decision, if you’re staying here 100 percent you’re gonna stay sober—that’s your decision in the end,” Amber jumped in.
“This isn’t a revolving door,” Matt said, and Amber agreed. “We’re not here for a vacation, we’re here to help you. But we’re not gonna enable you in any way—make sense?”
In the Teen Mom OG sneak peek, Matt told his son that while he’s staying with them, it’s important that he works. He told Christopher that he and Amber have a guy who works for them on their house flipping business who has a whole crew of workers who work on everything from flooring and carpets to plumbing and electrical and even roofing and landscaping, so they could make a few phone calls to help Christopher find a job.
“That would be great,” Christopher said. “It’s hard for me to get a job sometimes just cause of my rap sheet and I have a felony on my record.”
“Are you willing to do some sort of program like go to meetings and stuff?” Matt asked.
“No,” Christopher said flat-out.
Amber told Christopher that she doesn’t follow the 12-step program either for her recovery from addiction, but she suggested that Christopher should at least have some guidelines for himself and his own recovery. Christopher refused because he said he didn’t want to even talk about his addiction, he just wanted to leave it in the past.
“That’s gonna be really hard to do, but okay,” Amber responds.
