Taylor Swift ‘Not So Close’ To Selena Gomez Amid Rehab Struggles, Dating Ben Affleck?

Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have developed a close friendship through the years, helping each other celebrate professional successes and survive boyfriend breakups. But Selena now is in rehab, with Taylor reportedly looking for something new after her split from Tom Hiddleston. Amid rumors that Swift is dating Jennifer Garner’s ex Ben Affleck, is it possible that the two are no longer best friends?

An insider clarified to OK! magazine that while Taylor still loves the girls in her squad such as Selena, she isn’t as close to some of them at this point in her life. Instead, Swift is turning to another buddy, supermodel-turned-actress Cara Delevinge, to jazz up her life, added the source.

“[Taylor is] looking for a new challenge, starting with her social life. She loves the girls in her squad, [but is] not so close with Selena these days.”

Sharing that Swift also is not as close with “the likes of Karlie [Kloss],” the insider revealed that Taylor has “been hanging with Cara.” The singer also has spent some time with “cleaner-living” friends such as Blake Lively, according to the source.

But it’s the supermodel/actress who is reportedly playing a role in spicing up Swift’s social life, because Delevinge is “all about partying and letting loose,” shared the source, who added that Taylor wants to “go clubbing and meet some hot guys as well as some of Cara’s hip fashionistas.”

However, another report claims that Swift already has at least one new hot guy on her dating list, and that’s Jennifer Garner’s ex Ben Affleck.

The rumors that Swift and Affleck are dating come from In Touch magazine, reported the Daily Mail, which noted that In Touch summed up its report on Taylor and Ben by dropping the bombshell in a headline.

“Taylor sets her sight on Ben.”

In Touch also reported that Affleck had reached out to Cara, his co-star on Suicide Squad, to make the Swift connection. As noted above, Delevingne and Taylor are close pals.

The result of that initial connection has allegedly become a “flirtatious texting relationship,” with Swift now “hoping to take it to the next level,” noted the Daily Mail.

The feelings are mutual, according to In Touch’s source, who also alleged that Affleck has had a crush on Taylor since they met. That initial meeting occurred during her “1989 World Tour,” when Ben took his daughters 10-year-old Violet and 7-year-old Seraphina to Swift’s concert, added the insider.

“She’s made it clear to Ben that she’s interested – and Taylor always gets what she wants.”

The source revealed that Affleck is staying in touch with Swift, from sending her flowers to amusing her with jokes.

“He’s enjoying getting to know her. He’s been sending her daily jokes and funny YouTube videos and has also sent flowers to her NYC apartment,” added the insider. “He’s slowly paving a way for romance.”

In June of 2015, Ben and Jennifer Garner revealed their plans to divorce. Since then, the two have succeeded in an amicable arrangement for raising their children. In addition to the two little girls, Affleck and Garner have a son, Sam, who is 4.

Investigating In Touch’s report, Gossip Cop revealed that Swift is not enjoying a rebound romance with Affleck.

In Touch had alleged that Taylor “made a major impression” on Ben during their backstage meeting at one of her concerts, claiming that Affleck was “totally blown away by Taylor’s beauty and charming personality.”

In Touch’s insider said that Swift and the actor have become “much more flirtatious” in the text messages that they allegedly are exchanging, revealing their mutual hopes for their future.

“[Taylor is] hoping to turn their friendship into a full-blown romance. Ben is on board, even though he still isn’t divorced from Jennifer Garner.”

However, although Affleck did recently mention Swift in an interview by describing just how thrilled his daughters were when they met the singer, Gossip Cop confirmed with multiple sources that the story of a romance between Taylor and Ben is “manufactured.”
