As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the title of The Vampire Diaries Season 8, Episode 1 is “Hello Brother.” The synopsis was recently released. It states that the premiere will focus on Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) trying to find his brother. However, Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham) is wearing down emotionally. Stefan will come to realize just how powerful the mystery creature is while Caroline Forbes (Candice King) is faced with her own issues regarding her family’s safety.

“Months after Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) mysteriously vanished from the Armory vault, Stefan tirelessly pushes forward with their search, while Bonnie struggles holding onto hope that they will be found. Meanwhile, a dangerous encounter with an unexpected visitor leaves Caroline and Alaric (Matt Davis) fearing that someone – or something – may be targeting their family. Finally, after following some mysterious clues, Stefan realizes that whatever has a hold of his brother may have a more damaging grip over him than he could have ever imagined.”

To prepare everyone for the highly anticipated Season 8 premiere, some sneak peek clips have been released. Some of these clips viewers have seen before, but others might be new to fans of The Vampire Diaries. A producer’s preview was also unveiled by Spoilers Guide, in which executive producer Julie Plec teases what to expect.

First of all, Damon Salvatore is going to be back to his old ways, like he was before he got together with Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev). However, the showrunner teased that the difference is that the creature literally has her claws inside Damon and Enzo’s heads. Even though Enzo will be fighting, Damon deals with the situation differently. He has completely lost control of himself. The question is can he come back? If so, when and how will it happen and is Elena involved? If Damon can be saved in TVD, how will he redeem himself after performing “gruesome executions” for the mystery creature?

Plec also discussed Alaric in The Vampire Diaries. In Season 8, the father of Caroline’s twins will have responsibilities at the Armory. He is in charge of some of the strangest and oldest supernatural artifacts. The synopsis for Episode 2 teases that Alaric finds an ancient symbol that could be a clue. In Episode 3, expect him to examine an artifact that could help free Damon and Enzo.

#TVD is in just 5 DAYS! Watch the final season, Friday at 8/7c on The CW.

As for Stefan and Caroline, they got back together during the season finale of TVD. However, it happened on the same night that Damon was affected by the creature inside the vault. Since then, “Steroline” has been working together to try to find both Damon and Enzo in The Vampire Diaries. In fact, it is Caroline who tells Stefan that after all of their tracking, a body was found. That means they are one step closer to discovering Damon’s location.

In one of the sneak peeks for The Vampire Diaries Season 8, Enzo wonders how much more of the “bad guy slaughter” game they will have to participate in. He also mentions that the night before, Damon was coming pretty close to breaking the rules. While Enzo is talking about how much he doesn’t like his new “job,” Damon reminds him that the creature can hear him. Enzo admits that his self-control is dwindling. To this, Damon suggests flipping his switch off. It is being assumed that he means his humanity switch. It would certainly explain why Damon and Enzo are handling their predicament in completely different ways.
