‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Spoilers: New & Old Characters Coming In Season 13

Grey’s Anatomy spoilers reveal that some new and old faces will be popping up at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital in Season 13 and that Arizona may find herself in a new romantic relationship because of it. Reports reveal that Arizona’s love life is going to finally pick back up again this season, and fans are excited to see which direction it will go, as it’s been a long time since she’s been in a committed relationship. Now that Callie is officially out of the picture, at least for now, Arizona can finally move on with her life.

According to Entertainment Weekly, actress Marika Dominczyk, who is best known for her role on the TV series Brothers & Sisters, has landed a guest-starring role on Grey’s Anatomy in Season 13. Fans are already speculating that Dominczyk’s character could be Arizona’s new love interest. However, if the role is only a guest-starring appearance, it doesn’t seem likely a relationship between the characters could work in the long term. As many fans know, Marika has some big ties to the Shondaland family, as she’s the real-life wife of former Grey’s star and current Scandal star Scott Foley.

Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes has already confirmed that Arizona will have a new love interest, as Callie has moved to New York in Season 13, and that she’s very excited for the character to come into her own again and express herself in a way that she’s hasn’t done in a long time.

“We’re absolutely going to see it. I’m very excited to introduce a love interest for her, and to get to tell a story with her that lets her be who she is, and to see who she is post the relationships that she’s had.”

Actress Jessica Capshaw, who plays Arizona on Grey’s Anatomy, also expressed her excitement over the character getting a new love story. Jessica revealed her hopes for Arizona’s new partner before her character made her Season 13 debut.

“I hope that she ends up getting into a relationship with someone who can feel really confident, totally full, funny, sexy, exciting, and excited. There’s a lot of fertile ground for that bloom in.”

Meanwhile, Arizona is going to have yet another possible love interest. Former Grey Sloan resident Leah Murphy is set to return the hospital and shake things up in Season 13. The character, played by Tessa Ferrer, will make her return debut in next week’s episode and could end up getting involved with Arizona. The two had a bit of a fling in the past, and Arizona broke it off much to Leah’s disappointment. When Leah returns, there should be some interesting scenes between the two characters. Jessica Capshaw recently teased the possible drama between the women.

“There’s definitely drama to be had. The way that they left it, [Arizona] broke it off and the Leah character… I don’t know if she turned crazy, but she was upset by the turn of events, so she kind of went after all of the attendings for the shenanigans, the little affairs, that happen all the time between attending and the residents. There was definitely drama to that, and I think that probably Arizona felt really guilty about all of that. So I think it’s definitely, definitely surprising to [Arizona] that she’s back.”

It looks like Grey’s Anatomy fans will finally see Arizona Robbins start to spread her wings and weigh her options now that she’s single and ready to mingle again. Season 13 should be an interesting journey for Arizona, and fans can’t wait to see what it brings for the character.
