Charlize Theron Almost Unrecognizable After Gaining 35 Lbs For ‘Tully’

Charlize Theron has gained 35 pounds for her new role, according to People. The 41-year-old actress, who has made women around the world jealous of her slim figure, has apparently put on 35 pounds for her role in Tully.

Charlize Theron is definitely making some serious Oscar-worthy steps here, as the actress has gained a whopping 35 pounds to play the mother of three Marlo in Tully. A source close to the project broke the news to People.

And the photos taken during the filming of the movie in Vancouver seem to confirm the source’s words, as Charlize Theron showed a much fuller figure on the set. On the exclusive pics, the Mad Max: Fury Road actress is almost unrecognizable in baggy jeans and a plaid flannel shirt.

It’s not the first time Charlize Theron’s beauty has suffered for the sake of her roles. Just recently, the 41-year-old actress shaved her head to play Furiosa in last year’s hit film Mad Max: Fury Road.

In 2004, Charlize Theron had to put on 30 pounds and wear a prosthetic nose to play the role of serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster, for which she won an Academy Award.

On the first day of filming Tully, Charlize Theron took to Instagram to share a snap of her on-set chair with her character’s name embroidered on it. However, the actress didn’t take a selfie, so her 1.5 million followers couldn’t have noticed her dramatic body shape change.

Charlize Theron has previously complained in her interviews that she was losing film roles because she was typecast as the “pretty girl.” In her interview with British GQ magazine, the actress admitted that she had witnessed many times when pretty people got rejected at auditions.

Charlize Theron will reprise her role of Furiosa in the prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road, according to the Guardian. The follow-up to the 2015 film directed by George Miller will tell the backstory of Theron’s character.

The prequel was announced shortly after the original 2015 film starring Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron was a huge success around the world. The untitled prequel is said to be filmed in and around Broken Hill, New South Wales.

In fact, the original Mad Max film was nominated for six awards at this year’s Academy Awards. Seeing the huge success of the film, which grossed $378 million worldwide, Miller wanted to further develop the story of Charlize Theron’s character.

Charlize Theron may not have to work alongside Tom Hardy in the upcoming film if the events will tell her character’s story before meeting Mad Max. And that’s good news for Theron as she reportedly didn’t get along with her Mad Max: Fury Road co-star.

In other news, Angelina Jolie, who is currently going through a painful divorce from Brad Pitt, is feuding with Charlize Theron over Murder on the Orient Express, according to the Times of India. The ex-wife of Pitt is apparently angry with Theron for replacing her in the remake of the film.

It’s interesting because Jolie herself turned down the role in the remake, but for some reason, she holds a grudge at Charlize Theron. In fact, Jolie and Theron have reportedly hated each other for a few years now, but the origin of their feud remains a mystery.

But if the reports are true and Charlize Theron is feuding with the fellow actress over the Murder on the Orient Express remake, it means that their feud has further deepened. Theron is also filming Fast 8 alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham.
