Detroit Lions Vs. Los Angeles Rams: Bold Predictions For NFL Week 6

The Detroit Lions are set to face off against the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday in NFL Week 6 action. It is a game that both teams need to win if they want to make a run at the playoffs. Los Angeles seems to be the more serious playoff contender in the NFC this year, but Detroit has shown flashes of potential as well.

Coming into this week’s game, the Lions hold a 2-3 record. Los Angeles, on the other hand, has a 3-2 record on the season and has been one of the most pleasant surprises in the NFL.

Simply looking at the on-paper matchup, the Rams would have to be favored. Detroit has had quite a few issues all season long, although they do have the advantage of having the better quarterback. Matthew Stafford is a far superior quarterback to Case Keenum, who has been playing the role of game manager this season.

It will be interesting to see how this game plays out on Sunday afternoon. Both teams are going to bring everything they have to the field and will be playing with a sense of desperation.

All of that being said, what bold predictions can be made for the Lions vs. Rams game this week?

Matthew Stafford Throws for 300 Yards, Four Touchdowns

If the Lions want to come out on top this week, they are going to need Matthew Stafford to come through with a big game. He will do just that and throw for 300 yards and four touchdowns. Los Angeles has a very solid defense, which makes this prediction extremely difficult to accomplish for Stafford.

Todd Gurley Will Rush for 125 Yards, Two Touchdowns

Throughout the first five weeks of the NFL season, Todd Gurley has gotten off to a disappointing start. He has averaged just 2.7 yards per carry, which isn’t close to what they were expecting. Gurley will break out with a huge game against the Lions and will rush for at least 125 yards and two touchdowns.

Detroit Will Intercept Case Keenum Twice

While the Detroit defense may not be known for having a playmaking secondary, they will intercept two passes from Case Keenum. He simply isn’t an NFL starting caliber quarterback, although he has played well enough to lead his team to a 3-2 record. Detroit will find ways to put pressure on him and force a couple of mistakes.

Los Angeles Will Sack Matthew Stafford Five Times

There is no question that the Rams will have to put pressure on Stafford in order to come away with a win this week. The Rams have a solid pass rush and will break through for five sacks this week. Los Angeles has a defense that is capable of making big plays, and they will do just that this week.

Los Angeles Will Pull Out a Late Game Victory

It isn’t going to be easy for the Rams to pull out a win this week against the Lions, but they will get the job done. Neither team is going to blow the other out, but the Rams will make the necessary plays down the stretch to improve to 4-2 on the young season.

Expect to see the Rams and Lions put on a very entertaining performance for the fans. They certainly aren’t considered Super Bowl contenders at this point in the season, but the Rams are a team to keep an eye on as the season moves forward.
