Paul Heyman Scheduled To Appear On Tonight’s ‘Raw’: Will He Reveal Brock Lesnar’s Next Opponent?

WWE has just announced that Brock Lesnar’s advocate — Paul Heyman — will be appearing on tonight’s Raw show, which takes place at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.

Heyman’s role on tonight’s Raw will likely be to hype the release of WWE 2K17, which will be released for XBox One and PlayStation 4 tomorrow. But he could also hint at who Brock Lesnar will face next, as WWE is teasing that Heyman will talk about what’s next for Lesnar on tonight’s show.

“With WWE 2K17 poised to take millions of gamers to Suplex City when it’s released tomorrow, Brock Lesnar’s advocate Paul Heyman will be appearing live on Raw tonight.

“Will the audacious associate of The Beast Incarnate reveal Lesnar’s next move, or perhaps his next opponent? There’s been rampant speculation on social media about when The Anomaly will re-emerge and who will face his wrath. Tonight, we just might get an answer.”

Of course, everybody thinks that Lesnar’s next opponent will be Bill Goldberg, as it’s been reported by several reliable sources that Goldberg will face Lesnar at next month’s Survivor Series pay-per-view. Many people expected Goldberg to announce his comeback during his appearance on SportsCenter last week, but instead, he made it seem like he hadn’t decided if he wanted to return to the ring.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is holding off on announcing the Lesnar vs. Goldberg match until after the Hell in a Cell show is over, because they don’t want to undercut their upcoming show by announcing the main event of the following month’s pay-per-view.

Paul Heyman has continued to tease that a Lesnar vs. Goldberg match is going to happen at some point, and his lates tease came on Twitter, where he sent out a warning to the former WCW megastar.

Even though all the teases have been centered around a Lesnar vs. Goldberg match in the WWE 2K17 video game, most are under the impression that the match will actually happen at a future WWE pay-per-view, even if it doesn’t end up happening at Survivor Series.

The Wrestling Observer has also reported that the match with Goldberg at Survivor Series has been run by, and cleared with Lesnar. So, if that report is true, it looks like we’ll be getting a Brock Lesnar vs. Bill Goldberg match next month, even if the match isn’t announced tonight.

Could Bill Goldberg make a surprise appearance on tonight’s Raw and confront Paul Heyman? You never know, but that seems unlikely. If Goldberg were to appear on Raw, WWE would likely build it up for several weeks so they could at least get a good rating for his return.

Heyman’s appearance could end up being a huge disappointment if he’s just there to plug the WWE 2K17 video game, especially because WWE is hinting that he may announce who Brock Lesnar’s next opponent is going to be. Also, if Heyman does announce Lesnar’s next opponent, and that opponent isn’t Goldberg, WWE fans will likely be very disappointed, even if “The Beast” is given a big-name opponent.

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman were last seen at SummerSlam this past August, where Lesnar completely destroyed Randy Orton, and then laid out SmackDown commissioner Shane McMahon after the match.

It’s looking like WWE is planning on doing a Shane vs. Lesnar match at WrestleMania 33, which is one of the reasons why they’re reportedly planning on doing Lesnar vs. Goldberg at Survivor Series. But, they could do a flip flop if Goldberg needs more time to prepare for his in-ring return, and have Shane face Lesnar next month.
