One of the most iconic shows of all time is on its way back, and it is going to be presented in glorious HD as it always should have been. HBO is bringing back the Jim Henson TV series that helps you dance your cares away as Fraggle Rock is indeed going to return. While it is confirmed that the TV series is coming back, many are wondering if the new movie version with Joseph Gordon-Levitt is actually ever going to happen.

According to Deadline, the hit show that premiered in 1983 is making its way back to HBO and it is going to be done in a digitally remastered version. This announcement has been confirmed via the Jim Henson Company, and it’s going to be available across multiple platforms.
A.V. Club reported that all 96 episodes created of Fraggle Rock have already been remastered in HD, and fans can watch them on HBO, HBO Go, and HBO Now by the end of this year.
Richard Goldsmith is the executive vice president of global distribution for The Jim Henson Company, and he said that the remastered look is for everyone. Now, those who loved Fraggle Rock long ago can see it in a whole new way while new audiences will be thrilled to meet all the characters.
“In remastering the series, illuminate has created a contemporary look for the series with meticulous attention paid to every detail — sharpening the images, cleaning up the contrast, increasing the vibrancy of the colors and re-formatting for wide-screen — all under the careful supervision of Brian Henson. We’ll engage a whole new audience who will love meeting the Fraggles, Gorgs, and Doozers.”
For those who aren’t yet aware of the premise of Fraggle Rock, it’s one that needs to be seen to be fully believed.

Fraggle Rock deals with an underground world that follows the lives of three specific sets of creatures. There are the Fraggles which were a huge race, but the focus characters were Red, Gobo, Mokey, Boober, and Wembley.
The Gorgs were large creatures that were farmers and actually tried to get hold of the Fraggles for pretty evil reasons. One of the most entertaining groups of creatures, though, were the Doozers. They were essentially the construction workers of the underground world and the Fraggles simply wouldn’t leave their creations alone.
As reported by the Inquisitr last year, a Fraggle Rock film was apparently being put into production and it would be live-action and include Joseph Gordon-Levitt in huge ways. JGL even said that he has always been a huge fan of Jim Henson and wanted to do great things with his work and characters.
Unfortunately, there has been very little word on this film since it was officially announced almost a year-and-a-half ago now. Maybe the return of Fraggle Rock to HBO will breathe new life into it, but nothing more is known as of this time.
The return of Fraggle Rock to HBO is going to bring about some fantastic memories for those who happened to watch it during its first run. Now, there will be a brand new audience who will be able to enjoy one of the greatest puppet shows of all time. Talk has been quiet on the new movie version with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and it isn’t known if it will ever really happen. The good thing is that Fraggle Rock will always live on in one way or another, and now, it’s going to happen in HD.
