‘Tarantino XX’ 10 Disc Box Set Gets A New Trailer

The Tarantino XX 8-Film Collection Blu-ray box set is presently on its way to retail shelves across the nation. If the very idea of owning the first 20 years of the talented filmmaker’s career in one handy package isn’t enough to make a sizable dent in your entertainment budget, then the recently-released trailer should make it a little harder to resist the allure of Tarantino’s work.

In addition to Reservoir Dogs, True Romance, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill Vol. 1, Kill Bill Vol. 2, Death Proof, and Inglourious Basterds, the Tarantino XX 8-Film Collection comes with over five hours of never-before-seen special features and a career-spanning retrospective detailing the director’s body of work.

However, as Cinema Blend points out, the 10-disc Blu-ray set will become immediately dated when Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained hits theaters later this year. What’s more, the discs contained within the package itself are essentially no different than those you may have already purchased individually. Unless you’re a Tarantino aficionado who feels weirdly compelled to buy everything with the filmmaker’s name on it, there’s really no reason to double-dip if you already own all of the features on their own.

Sadly, the Tarantino XX set won’t include the uncut Japanese version of Kill Bill Vol. 1. featuring a bit more gore and violence than the American version of the film. Hardcore Quentin fans have been eager to get their hands on an unedited domestic copy of the flick since this version arrived on DVD overseas. The only way to properly procure the uncut Kill Bill is to spring for an overpriced import or spend some scratch on an unauthorized bootleg.

If you’re having trouble securing a holiday present for the film geek in your family, the Tarantino XX 8-Film Collection could be the solution to all of your retail problems. The package, which carries a suggested retail price of $119, will hit shelves on November 20. The trailer for the set has been included below.
