Nicki Minaj In The Clear As Safaree Samuels Drops Civil Lawsuit

After her breakup with Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj regained some peace of mind after former fiancé Safaree Samuels dropped his lawsuit against the “Anaconda” singer.

Back in May, the lady MC revealed that her ex-beau was suing her for millions in royalties. The two were together for 12 years before they split in 2014. She claimed that the rapper had been accusing her of physically and emotionally abusing him.

Apparently, Samuels thinks that he wasn’t paid his due over his contributions on The Pinkprint, Pink Friday, and Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. He also allegedly contributed to the songs “Flawless (Remix) and “Feeling Myself.”

In an extensive interview for Rap-Up magazine, however, Samuels said that he dropped the lawsuit against Minaj. “I’d started a process and then I was like, ‘It is what it is. If you want to deal with it like that, go ahead,” he said.

“I ain’t trippin’. I’m doing a lot and I don’t want to have to deal with depositions and courts and all of that. Ain’t nobody threatened me. Ain’t nobody make me do it. At the end of the day, I didn’t even wanna do it.”

“I just know if it was me and the shoe was on the other foot, I’d handle it and just say, ‘Peace out. Here. Do what you gotta do. That’s it.’ But I just dropped it,” Samuels added.

Minaj, meanwhile, took to Twitter to rant about how Samuels couldn’t move on. She accused her ex-boyfriend of being jealous about her happiness when she shacked up with Mill. The timing of the lawsuit in May was suspect, considering that it was filed three days after she celebrated her new boyfriend’s birthday.

“Two years later this poor excuse of a man is suing me & claiming to have been physically & emotionally abused. Lol. He’s so miserable,” she tweeted. “Look @ what you’ve become. Gods wrath is no joke. You will regret every lie u said about me,” she continued.

In the same interview, Samuels also claimed that Mill was responsible for his breakup from Nicki Minaj. Without going into details, he said that the rapper “was a big part” of the split.

But he quickly added that it’s all water under the bridge now, and he has since moved on from Minaj. In fact, the rapper was rumored to be dating Hip Hop Hollywood reality star Nicki Mudarris after they were spotted together several times.

Billboard ran an interview with Samuels back in August where he said that the whole lawsuit has been “blown out of proportion” by the press “because people wanted to react.” He claims that he doesn’t even speak to Minaj.

“If there was a court situation, you guys would’ve saw it. There’s no hiding,” he said.

In August, it was confirmed that Minaj and Mill had broken up after about two years. The reason wasn’t revealed, although rumors circulated about their different goals.

Mill has been accused by other rappers like Drake or The Game, for instance, of riding on the coattails of his girlfriend by opening for her in tours and concerts since he could not produce a successful record on his own.

Another reason for the breakup could stem from a report that the MC went to a girlie club with his friends without Minaj knowing about it. Mill reportedly burned about $20,000 that night.
