Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are parting ways, and as they prepare for the finalization of their divorce, they are working with their lawyers to sort out their prenuptial agreement and divide their assets in the best way possible.
Although the couple does have a prenuptial agreement in place, it may not be easy to split their combined net worth of $440 million. So, in addition to their messy custody battle over their six children, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie could soon face off over their cash, properties, and other assets.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie "are only just beginning a messy and potentially drawn out divorce process with a rather large fortune at stake," the International Business Times revealed to readers last month, adding that the couple was lawyering up in an effort to settle what is sure to be an extremely public divorce.
Brad Pitt Angelina Jolie Update: Brad Reunited With Children For First Time Since Angelina… https://t.co/0QJl38DffHAt the end of last month, TMZ confirmed that settlement negotiations between Brad Pitt and his wife had begun. Days after Jolie's divorce filing on September 19, the outlet told readers that in addition to discussions about the custody of their kids, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were attempting to sort out an agreement for the division of their properties, temporary support for Jolie and the kids, and permanent financial support for the family.

At the time, TMZ revealed, the financial aspect of their divorce had not yet been resolved.
A short time later, a source claimed Jolie has been "super aggressive" as she and Pitt continue their discussions while Pitt is doing his best to keep their custody battle and dispute over their net worth private and remain amicable.
On October 5, Entertainment Tonight revealed that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have had some "productive discussions, [and] the fact that things have quieted down is a good sign for everyone."
According to another report, via the Christian Post, Brad Pitt and his wife accumulated $117.5 million during their marriage, which is likely what they will be forced to split. However, because of state laws in California, where Pitt and Jolie obtained their marriage license, the majority of Pitt and Jolie's combined net worth will stay with Pitt. Meanwhile, their pre-marriage net worth amounts may stay the same.

Jolie is "seething" as she plots her divorce from Brad Pitt, the magazine's source revealed, explaining that something that her husband did left her "very pissed off."
"[Brad Pitt] just wants to work through everything and get to a place where there can be some certainty about what's going on," the source explained. "The kids are the only thing he's hanging on to."
As Brad Pitt prepares to take what will likely be at least a slight hit to his net worth, he is reportedly clinging to his kids and keeping his "dirt" to himself.
"There is so much stuff of Angelina but [Brad Pitt] just doesn't want to go there. He told his team he doesn't want to play dirty," the source concluded.
