Britney Spears Sings Taylor Swift Song As ‘Glory’ Drops To No. 66

It’s quite ironic that Britney Spears’ new album is called Glory, especially given that on Billboard‘s current album chart, it has dropped from No. 37 to No. 66. The drop is quite shocking due to the fact that Britney Spears received mostly positive reviews for her efforts. Jonathan Rigg from Idolator thought Glory wasn’t perfect, but represented Spears’ best work in years.

“For all its flaws (and there are many), this album features the entertainer more lucid, engaged and front-and-center than she’s been in years, as she laughs, talks, coos and sings.”

The review adds that not only does Britney display several different vocal styles, but she also acts a lot more human. It’s a shame that Spears has put so much effort into the album without getting the response many feel she deserves.

But Britney isn’t taking her flop lying down. As a matter of fact, according to People, Ms. Spears is now singing Taylor Swift songs on helium.

“Britney Spears decided to cover one of Taylor Swift’s biggest hits – on helium. The pop star appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show on Saturday and competed in several silly contests with the titular host. After she was defeated by Ross in Forfeit Tennis, Spears had to step up to a helium-filled balloon, inhale, and perform a song.”

According to People, Spears also discussed dating and the making of her new album. Many on Twitter were entertained by Britney’s antics.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports that Britney Spears is definitely interested in doing a duet with her teen heartthrob Justin Timberlake. She was on a show with media personality Ryan Clark-Neal, who reminded Spears that she had done a lot of duets in the past. He then said that Justin Timberlake is interested in doing a duet with her. Britney said that she is open to the idea, but that there is no official talk about it at the moment. The article also summarizes Britney’s talk about her album on the show.

“It took me two years to make this and it’s just been an amazing ride. I’ve spent really all my quality time and my heart into this, so it’s very cool. It’s very empowering this album,” Spears is quoted as saying.

According to Digital Spy, Spears’ first performance in years at the Apple Music Festival a week ago was a huge success.

“Britney Spears made a spectacular return to the UK stage last night (September 27) as part of the Apple Music Festival. Just over 1,700 fans were packed into Camden’s Roundhouse in London for the superstar’s most intimate show in years, and she made sure she pulled out all of the big hits. Not only was it a glorious spectacle, but Britney packed the show with fierce choreography, numerous costumes and, of course, loads of fun.”

The reviewer especially liked when Spears brought “Me Against The Music” to life as well as the spectacular dance moves to “Womanizer.” Meanwhile, according to NME, Spears had a brief glitch at the performance where she was going to do a backflip, but then decided not to.

“Last night I freaked out, I put my hands up and there was a new guy there. Usually I have my signature guy who helps me with it, every night for the past three years. But it was this new guy,” Spears said and then indicated that the new dancer was more muscular than the previous one, and she should have been more confident. Perhaps all the great reviews from the music festival have made Britney Spears more confident. Let’s hope that Glory rises back on the charts soon.
