Moonlight Drawn By Clouds (Love In The Moonlight) actor Park Bo Gum has a lot to celebrate these days. According to Mstars News , Bo Gum’s Korean drama is ranked No. 1 right now by The Korea Institute of Corporate Reputation.

This is a big deal for the show. On the first night that Moonlight Drawn By Clouds aired, August 22, it was ranked No. 17 by Nielsen, according to MStars . So, not the most auspicious start. However by the 10th episode, the show had climbed up to claim the No. 2 spot.

This No. 1 ranking from the The Korea Institute of Corporate Reputation measures Moonlight’s brand reputation among Korean drama viewers and gauges how they are reacting to the series so far. But a quick glance at social media can also show you how much the series and its stars, Park Bo Gum and Kim Yoo Jung, are loved by K-drama fans.

Even though Moonlight Drawn By Clouds Season 1 has had amazing success in the ratings so far, according to an article on Drama Beans , there probably won’t be a Season 2.

According to Drama Beans , Moonlight’s broadcaster, KBS, thought it best to preserve the quality of the first season. Apparently, the rationale here was that there was no need to dirty the memory of a great Season 1 with a disappointing Season 2. It also seems that KBS will be focusing on promoting its newer K-drama properties, including The Man Living In Our House , starring Su Ae.

Although Moonlight Drawn By Clouds is currently ranked as the No. 1 Korean drama, it’s still facing some stiff competition. As the Kpop Herald reports, Moonlight’s main competitors are Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo and a new K-drama, Woman Without A Suitcase . Last week, Woman Without A Suitcase, got 8.5 percent of audience viewership while Scarlet Heart Ryeo got 7.5 percent. They’re still a long way off from Moonlight’s 20.1 percent viewership last week. The show has been topping its competitors’ ratings for weeks now.

You may be wondering why Moonlight Drawn By Clouds is so popular among Korean drama fans. Firstly, the premise is pretty interesting. It follows the story of a crown prince Hyomyeong in the Joseon dynasty who develops a close relationship with a woman who is pretending to be a man (Kim Yoo Jung).

The show’s lead actors, Bo Gum and Yoo Jung, also have a great chemistry onscreen, as you can see in the video where they thanked their fans for the 20 percent rating. This really helps to keep viewers coming for more every single week.
