New ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’ Trailer Reveals Terrifying State Of Wizards

The new Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them trailer gives fans a glimpse of the terrifying state of the wizarding world back in the 1920s. Even Eddie Redmayne’s charm cannot conceal the fact that a war is brewing.

“This is related to the Grindelwald attacks in Europe. This could mean war,” said Seraphina Picquery in the new trailer, which was released last Wednesday. The president of the American wizarding community is pertaining to the famous dark wizard, Gellert Grindelwald.

As Harry Potter loyalists remember, Grindelwald used to be a friend of Albus Dumbledore. The two eventually fought because Grindelwald wanted to use the Elder Wand, as well as the other Deathly Hallows, to achieve his ultimate goal – to reveal the magical world to the No-Majs (muggles) so that they could establish a new wizard-led system.

The trailer reveals that Colin Farrell’s character, Percival, is exhausted for being in the “shadows for too long.” Like Grindelwald, he also wants to dissolve the divide between the wizards and the No-Majs. Will Percival replicate Grindelwald’s efforts in America? Since there is a possibility that fans can see Grindelwald, some are hoping that Dumbledore will make a return to the big screen too. It was revealed that Dumbledore was the only Hogwarts teacher who objected to Newt’s expulsion from the school for “endangering human life with a beast.”

While Dumbledore’s objection did not change the decision of the Ministry of Magic or the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA), some argue that such a gesture deserves to have its own spotlight in the film.

“There is a mention of some characters that we know and love from previous movies, but we only talk about them fleetingly. In the next movie, part two, we’ll get to meet one of them in a significant way. He’s much younger than he used to be, but he’ll be coming back.”

Dan Fogler, who will portray a Muggle character in the film, also told the New York Daily News about the possible appearances of Harry Potter characters.

“As the stories go along, you will see, you will hear mention of your favorite characters… You may even meet their younger counterparts along the way.”

The script for the upcoming sequel was penned by J.K. Rowling herself. Yates praised the British author for giving the story “a whole new direction” which would involve new characters. The second Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film will continue to tell the story of the “increasingly dark time for the Wizarding World” where allegiances will be tested.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set to become a huge franchise as Warner Bros. has confirmed that they’d roll out a worldwide merchandising program for the film. The licensed line-up of merchandise items may be enjoyed by fans of all ages.

The president of Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Pam Lifford, talked to Comicbook about their newest project.

“As we expand our Wizarding World offerings, we’re so excited to bring to the loyal fans, as well as new generations of fans, more ways to connect, engage and express their passion for this amazing expansion of J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World. Our global program will offer a wide variety of products and price points – as we have something for everyone.”

Apart from Warner Bros., other renowned brands such as Funko, Noble Collection, Elope, Carat Shop, Northwest, Jacmel, and Bioworld will release exclusive items for the franchise just in time for the film’s release.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will hit theaters on Nov. 18.
